Typo...

I was just saying how Bernie and his supporters will deserve all the credit if Biden wins and that the public can't deny that no matter how hard they will try.

:russ:

Breh, please tell me that this post is also a typo.

There is no scenario where Bernie and his millions of supporters won't be looked at with scorn and derision by the broader Dem majority. Win or lose in November.

At best they will be viewed as an afterthought if Biden wins and they can continue to pretend as if we don't exist. And that the flowers and bunnies and butterflies that permeated all aspects of American life before 2016 will return, letting us all live happily ever after.

Fair enough that you wouldn't vote for Bernie, don't hold it against people like me who won't vote for Biden. There may have been some moderate voters like you who would vote for Trump or stay home had Bernie won but there are also plenty of voters like me who will stay home for Biden's run. Let's see if Biden can win without us.

Closed primaries, I had to change my party affiliation to Democrat to vote in the primary in my state, which I didn't get a chance to do. Some of those voters might like Bernie but not be engaged enough to know the rules in their state to vote in the primary. That happened to me in 2016, I learned from that experience but the primary is over before my state is voting, so I changed my party affiliation back to independent today after Bernie dropped out.

So basically you're saying that these voters were not motivated enough or uninformed about the voting process yet they are still dependable come general election time?

A large part of me wants to be petty and let people feel more pain but that’s not completely in my nature and solves nothing. It just really hurts to see a lot of us run to Biden and Dems who don’t do shyt for us and then see things like these two.

Black Americans Face Alarming Rates of Coronavirus Infection in Some States

Median wealth of black Americans 'will fall to zero by 2053', warns new report

Then we’ve got Biden who isn’t as progressive as we need to be with existential threats like climate change. And he isn’t gonna attempt to get at the issues that led us to Trump. People keep treating Trump like the disease and not the symptom he is. shyt won’t get better just cause we vote him out, the real work starts after that. :francis:

Like others said, I hope Bernie works to strengthen the Progressive wing. Hopefully it won’t be too late.

You are spot on with this. It is a great historical irony that we are suffering disproportionately from this pandemic after having voted for Joe Biden in full force. And this man is essentially a right leaning democrat who is against medicare for all.

As far as climate change, I feel we have missed an historic opportunity to implement policies that will help the environment. As you should know, climate scientist are saying we have a little under 10 years to get our act together. And I highly doubt Joe Biden will do anything meaningful when it comes to mitigating the most existential threat we've faced yet. It is very tragic from a historical standpoint. Hopefully I am wrong but I feel Bernie Sanders was our last chance to do anything substantial to mitigate the havoc that lays before us. The Green New Deal had its faults but it is exactly the type of bold action we need if we're going seriously address climate change. The longer we wait to do something about this issue the more disruptive and draconian any future actions on climate change will be. We are headed towards the precipice whether the majority of society wants to admit it or not.

At this point I am very concerned with our future. It seems the only thing left to do it retreat into the wilderness and live off grid while shyt collapses or engage in massive disobedience for our voices to be heard.

you sound like an absolute retard :yeshrug: theres no getting around it. there's nothing righteous about what you're doing, it's just embarrassing

answer this simple question: does bernie sanders himself want you to stay home, or vote for biden?

how can you stan bernie sanders but not listen to him tell you to vote for biden?

Not voting for Biden :yeshrug:

I’m an independent
what helps to further bernie's agenda: biden winning in 2020, or trump winning in 2020?

when bernie himself tells you that the best thing for his agenda is to vote for biden, do you know better than him when you don't listen to him?

I’m independent too, and I totally understand where you’re coming from. But I’d have to concede that it’s much easier to push a progressive platform with a Dem in office over a Repub. Even if this Dem isn’t exactly the best choice.

Real shyt, bitter losses like this has to strengthen progressives rather than discourage them. Our generation has every reason to be just as uncompromising as every one of those right wing movements. Especially as the social and economic pressures against us continues to mount.

Independent here that makes good money.

Motivation to vote was strong with Bernie was strong, even if I came out paying more in taxes, because you'd have someone actively governing for the many, not the few.

Trump against Biden... one benefits my pockets, and the other... does what?

Doesn't mean I'll vote for Trump, but personally I'm checked out of the race. May the best one win. I got dual citizenship so I'm good regardless :lolbron:

The progressive movement will live and die with southern black folks and older black people. What Bernie couldn’t convince them of is that this time will be different. And I don’t know how to either. I’ve never organized in the south.

We need a black progressive. With a black family. And who isn't outward agnostic. Andrew Gillum had something cooking, man. He was the prototype we should look at. Trump got away with being athiest but idk if black ppl would accpet that

This is another topic, but you cant be a black progressive AND have some of these far left views. You gotta straddle the line but Scumbag left would eat dude alive lol

The 2nd biggest thing is that progressives need to build legit media and business ties. I dont know if that is possible

Bernie took a fukking beating from the establishment for the last 5 years. Liberals seemed to hate him like he was the Grand Chief of the KKK...
