Learning about all the voter suppression that went on in Texas and California makes me so angry. We need election reform in this country so bad but it benefits the establishment so why would it ever change?

I really would like to see a deep analysis too on how black Christianity has been hijacked in this country, similiar to critiques of how the white evangelical movement has done so much damage to our country and the massive amounts of power they hold.
I'm pretty fukking disgusted at "the black church" right now. I never had any personal connection to it anyway outside of grandparents and older aunts and uncles who were church goers. I was raised in an Islamic background and pretty much none of my circle of friends in high school or college were Christians. I rolled with a bunch of 5 percenters, Muslims, Rastas, and either non-traditional or completely non-religious folk pretty much for the past 20+ years of my life.
But I haven't really given too much thought outside of the social and religious indoctrinations of the church. There needs to be a deeper analysis on how regressive it has become over the past few decades.

the Black Church is not the enemy. In fact it has done FAR more good than harm and I think we the new generation actually making it a big mistake of completely shunning it
