A simple majority vote is the senate disproportionately gives small states more power
:francis:

Listen to Warren here

Something simple. McConnell said on the Senate floor Republicans will fight any effort to help more people vote so the choice is clear: either you support helping millions of Americans vote or the stupid racist filibuster.

Why don't we have a filibuster in the US HOuse???

Bernie did sign the crime bill so he's got that going for him. He loves guns, despots, white people, and the "heartland".

Bernie really loves mixing the nationalism(white ethno nationalsim) with the socialism.

Bernie checks a lot of boxes for the right but the right wing taking heads paint him as a pinko commie.

he grew up in brooklyn in a poor jewish family and eventually moved to vermont and ran for office. he has a D- grade from the NRA. what the fukk are you talking about?

he's a social democrat -- his ideology lines up with much of the policies that are popular in scandinavia, europe, and canada e.g. policies that aim to curb wealth inequality, poverty, and oppression to under privileged groups.

the establishment/wealthy class has a polar opposite view. They believe in a free for all economy regardless of who is getting left behind. Mostly because they are the biggest benefactors of the current system -- they don't want anything to change

the establishment/wealthy/corporate class has dominated washington going back to the 1980s .. the only policies that get past are tax cuts for the wealthy, deregulation of wall st, and military budget increases.

the real war in politics in america, more than anything else, is the wealth & power in this country vs everybody else and bernie sanders represents the "everybody else" of that equation.

Two quote @Shogun you should actually spend time talking to Republicans.

In general they view him as too radical and turns off moderate voters.

:yeshrug:
Republicans are delusional people naturally. And they said AOC would be forgotten in a week yet they constantly tweet about her every day.

If Bernie wins the nomination the socialist hysteria will go through the roof. I know they're afraid. Socialism is going to win and they know it :wow:

Yall ever talk to Republicans about Hillary or Obama? :usure: Everything to the left of them is radical and the majority of #NeverHillary voters that switched from Bernie to Trump came from the Moderate to Conservative side according to Nate Silver. I like to use data over anecdotes, but I do talk to a lot of Republicans (less since Trump, had to cut some people off) and I've come away from most of those chats thinking a vast majority will fall in line when push comes to shove. Independents are a different story, but they overwhelmingly are more open to Bernie in my anecdotal experience (I'd presume polls support this too). And NONE of those people are crossing over for Harris, Gillebrand, Beto, Booker, Warren or Bernie...the never Trumpers probably vote Gary Johnson or at least front about it, but I don't get this implication that Bernie would turn off would be Democratic voting Republicans...where are these dudes?

A few things:

Progressives should absolutely want to end the Fillibuster if they hope to pass legislation because there isn't any likely path to a cloture welding majority.

The House used to have a filibuster, but removed it due to size. More people need a chance to talk. :manny:

The fillibuster removes the power of the simple majority, but as I pointed to before the very makeup of the senate goes against the idea of a simple representative majority. :pachaha:

I'll file it next to the electoral college. :mjpls:

All the more reason to get rid of it or the very least the filibuster :cacmjpls:

Should a true progressive, fighting for the little man have had to have this told to him in fukking 2016?

“Oh, he’s changing now that y’all showed him how exclusionary his campaign staff was” :hubie:
I honestly think he’s just admitting this just to do it anyway. The criticisms are 99% bullshiit. The fact is he’s from Vermont and didn’t expect his campaign to blow up. Many people have said he was planning on dropping out if Warren stepped up.

Progressive comes from progress, i.e. seeking to get better.

What a pitiful attack.
