Interesting. :jbhmm:
I liked Stacey and Andrew when they were running during their primary. Medicare for all is my litmus test. They've made moves after their primary that raise alarm bells.

Gillum backed off of it around the fall of 2018 and Stacey joined the foreign relations board for the Center of American Progess (the major Dem think tank Bernie and his team have beef with). Progessives don't join the CAP board. Remember how generic Dem buzzwordy her response speech to Trump was? She sounded completely different from her primary.

Not saying they're awful but Bernie needs someone who's gonna carry his message in case anything happens. It's a nearly useless job anyway

My bad wrong thread. I wouldn't pair Abrams or Gillum with Bernie. They're too different from him.

VP is a useless job so let Nina talk her shyt with it :yeshrug:

Sara Nelson and Zephyr Teachout are on my short list as well.

And in all seriousness I don't see why Cornel West shouldn't be on the short list too :hubie: I mean did you see the leaked list of Hillary's cabinet and VP possibilities in 2016

I've been trying to explain this ish in the primary thread whenever the issue of "what kinda strategy is that" comes up over Bernie's moves. He's trying to create a new reliable demo because there are way too many obstacles for a progressive to chase the typical options. The DNC is absolutely gonna be an obstacle and Pelosi has already said things that undermine progressive goals, though I feel like that was aimed more at Warren. I am kinda curious though at how some of the Clinton voters turned Warren G's will react. It looks like the old playbook they threw at Bernie is being flipped to Warren since she gained momentum and I'm wondering if they'll be like "hmmm...maybe I was misled and these outlets are unreasonable and sometimes disingenuous in the face of a more progressive approach regardless of practicality after all." or if they'll be like Nap and try to rationalize reasons why Bernie is the worst but the closest person to him policy wise is the best.

Remember back in 2016, Michael Bloomberg said he'd only run for pres to stop Bernie from winning. If he’s entering the 2020 race, you know what the deal is.

The New York Times reported on Saturday that Bloomberg may enter the race if Trump and Sanders become the nominees for the Republican and Democratic parties respectively.
Bernie Sanders: I can beat Michael Bloomberg and Donald Trump

They know Biden is cooked in Iowa/NH. Mayor Pete is cooked once we get past Iowa. Bernie is inevitable :mjlit:

But I don't like seeing shyt like this. Why can't Hillary be like Obama and stay out of this :hhh: The second round where super delegates come in is just gonna be a shyt show.

they want a brokered convention to prevent Bernie from winning

People need to realize this... even if Bernie wins the most delegates but not a majority, they wont care

You already know there's gonna be massive activist presence at the convention. If Bernie ends up leading in total delegates but it has to go to the second round and they pass it off to someone else, the Democratic party is finished lol. Handing it off to a centrist and not giving it to Bernie/Liz is going to create a riot.

The DNC was broke and Hillary was the only reason they were above water. We have on the record quotes saying she has influence over super delegates for 2020 and Bill Clinton told Tom Perez not to let the party go to the Bernie folks. I am slightly skeptical of Liz but I'm not cynical enough to believe she is scheming with Hillary. I know they met a few months ago but ehhh idk.
