Man miss me with all this, ain’t nobody asking them to be in a box. You can tackles these topics in a way that feels geared towards black people. If you felt the message in these episodes was for you, cool, I didn’t learn shyt here nor need to watch these episodes to have known of these experiences

Elaborate exactly how this is NOT geared towards black people? I'm curious.

The finale was cool but it felt like a weird way to bookend things. Finding out what the deal with Van was was definitely on people's minds but to leave it off with that feels insufficient. It feels like it should have been a lot earlier in the season but there’s some continuity stuff that prevents that.

Overall I enjoyed watching the season because Atlanta is Atlanta but it seems like there’s no conflict or major thread that'll carry us forward. It's kind of fukked up actually. Earn, Al and Darius are good. I need shyt to go left in the finale so I got something to look forward to :mjlit:

Well there wasn't anything more to talk about with Paperboi or Earn (aside from the after credit scene), and Darius is Darius so those guys entire European arc already came to a close with Paperboi's hallucinogenic dream questioning everything about his rap career. The only one story to tell WAS Van. So it was fitting to address what's going on with her. Plus, the events of her story been strongly implied is well after the European tour, so maybe it had to be told last per timeline.

That last episode was one of the worst episodes of any any show in history. Outside of The Trip Episode and Rich Wigga one. It didn’t hit like it should and was phoned in. ReMinds me Of Chitown on showtime. Fell all the way the fukk off.

I think this post is a prime example as to black people DON'T talk about mental illness or avoid the signs of someone with it. I dunno how you consider this being the worst of ANY SHOW in HISTORY when it is about addressing a serious truth about black trauma and mental illness. Especially common for many black women.

I finally caught up. I can't believe Glover went out like this.

@Ziggiy was telling the brehs to trust the process, but breh, do YOU still believe in the process? :lupe:

I was willing to go along with Childish as long as he gave us a payoff at the end, but he didn't.

Then breh had the nerve to be out there talking trash before the season earned.

I've never seen Dave, don't even know what it is, but regardless... if you gon talk trash, you gotta come correct. Glover fell into that space that many once-great shows fell into, like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead... He thought his show was too big to fail, and that the fans would be there no matter what he did.

Fans will be here as long as you showing that you value us by giving us great content. But the people are fickle. When you give us subpar mid-level content, we will look upon you with :scust:

I love the season personally but i’m firm in my assessment that Tarrare should NOT have been the season finale. It should have been either Cancer Attack or New Jazz. Thats my only real gripe with the season.

Also like @Stop_It_5 said I feel like because Seasons 3 & 4 were filmed simultaneously that S3 will be appreciated more in context once the final season airs. I feel like Donald and the team made a conscious decision to leave a lot of the “heavy lifting” with the main characters for the last season for strategic and plot reasons. So the plot threads regarding Earn and Alfred’s relationship, Earn and Van’s relationship, Van’s mental health, Alfred’s career, etc will all be handled in S4.

Season 3 is a 9/10 for me whereas both seasons 1 & 2 were perfect 10’s. I have a feeling i’ll be revisiting Season 3 more often than any of the other two seasons because the Anthology episodes were conceptually brilliant and VERY well executed, mainly the Season premiere “Three Slaps”, “The Big Payback” and “Rich Wigga Poor Wigga”

Also season 3 has some of the strongest overall acting and storytelling. Mainly Cancer Attack and White Fashion. Truly brilliant stuff.

Anyone who writes screenplays or is aspiring to direct and produce this series should be mandatory watching. Anyone looking to produce short films this SEASON should be mandatory watching

Glover sees your and @dora_da_destroyer post:russ:

Have you been tapped into the conversation online tor do you steer clear of that?

No, not really. I've seen some comments. I can't help but see some people saying, "Man, this season is mid or this season is trash." But I also see a ton of people who are like, "This is the greatest thing ever." I was telling some of the writers yesterday, "I don't think people realize how hard it is to get someone to say, “this is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life” and someone else to say, “this is trash” about the same thing. So, we're doing something.

I truly hope NO ONE who said Insecure had filler is gobbling this season of Altanta. Truly the WOAT season, brehs went to the full extent of try-hard, and as I’ve been wondering - who is this show even for at this point?

Breh, stop it. This would be cool if this were some anthology show like Twilight Zone, but you can’t do season 1/2, which very much seemed like a show for black folk, be gone for 4 years and come back with this shyt, which now seems like a show for “woke” white people suffering from white guilt.

shyt is trash
Exactly how I feel. I posted something similar a while back wondering who this show is meant for now. I’m just not interested in watching something that’s focused mostly on calling out white people or just getting super weird/surreal for the sake of it (yes, yes, we know the first two seasons had their surreal moments but those moments rarely overshadowed the characters or their relationships to the point that they were literally sidelined for half the season).

I stopped watching after the reparations episode and I planned to binge the season after the finale, but I’ve really just lost interest for now. I remember the Atlanta Twitter account posted about making people mad right before that episode, and it seems like that was their goal: make (white) people mad and be provocative. But brehs are running in here calling people dumb for not wanting to watch that. Meanwhile the season finale apparently involves Van having a fake French accent and Alexander Skaarsgard masturbating?

I’m glad so many of y’all love the show still but yea I'm cool on that.

All these random episodes without the actual cast should have been it’s own series or something.

I like the social commentary and shyt, but this is not why I watch Atlanta. Feels like they are waisting half the season on this shyt

Why do you watch Atlanta friend? :mjpls:

“With season 3, we aimed really big. This was our maximalist season, our Graduation Kanye album season. So we were like, let's swing really big and hopefully we'll get the things we want, but it's always a dice role trying to get big stars. And we never really wanted to be a show that relied on that either.”

Told ya’ll earlier in this thread EXACTLY what they were going for.
