Most recent episode = :ld:

The little white kid getting all :lawd: at the Pastor speech was funny tho..

It's not an episode for everyone. I showed my mom the episode and she was able to relate to Sylvia's kids because that's how she grew up. Spent part of her childhood in Trinidad before she herself came up.

Anybody ever been to a funeral with this type of fukkery?
I've been to funerals where the fukkery was bubbling but didn't end up in chaos.

I went to a close friend's funeral for her pops a few years ago. This woman got on the mic to tell a story that was wildly inappropriate. She ended up talking about how he made her feel during a boat ride on the lake with friends and family. She was like, "the way he interacted with my daughter just warmed my soul, I never told anyone this, but I was in love with that man"

:dahell:

The audience was murmuring lol, then she was like, I can go on and on talking about him, and everybody was like.."Naaaaah"

She was his widow's friend I believe, she def was down to fukk and she expressed that for the whole church to hear.

I want to rewatch the latest episode but it really was a hard one to see, even with the comic relief. Then again, how funny can a funeral be?

The kid was definitely cast well.

The reveal of the pictures was heartbreaking on a lot of levels. Like, after all these generations, black matriarchs are still responsible for raising whites, even at the expense of their own family.

Even the racial heirarchy commentary of Sylvia not being expensive and the wife wanting a Chinese nanny.

I could go on and on but it was one of those episodes from Atlanta.

I haven't had my skin crawl like this since the Helena episode. FUBU and Woods had the same vibe but were more digestible to me.

However, I did kind of like the Matilda vibe, since it's fairytale/super fiction season. The parents reminded me a lot of hers. Or the little match girl, which I haven't thought about since high school theatre. Lol.

Brehs like, where isPaper Boy? Yall will literally watch a episode where Paper Boi goes to McDonalds then takes a shyt. JUST because it is Paper Boi and Earn.

Like y'all got them both for the last 2 episodes. What other Zainy adventures y'all want them to do? They did everthing there is to do. There is no where else to go that matters. Paper Boi reached his conclusion as a successful touring rapper. That's it. Get over it.

These vignettes are dope. And they are unlike basically anything on TV.

The people not feeling this season proves Glover and crew are really throwing pearls to swine.

I think that's where it is with me at this point

BUT

I do like how it's kinda of like, in a way, a love letter to black parents, at least in my view.

where I'm at with it
maybe i'm too old and woke already and the intended audience is younger blacks and cacs overall....but none of these side episodes are deep or that entertaining to me
maybe some cacs in Portland who are unaware of the dynamic highlighted in the last episode were like :dwillhuh: but as a black person who knows all about these issues i'ma need them to be more funny or entertaining if it's going take up half a season of a show i was anticipating
