this laptop is far overpowered for retro gaming. I have NES/SNES/Genesis emulators on this laptop. I haven't used it in years tho to be honest.

Dunno if you pulled the trigger yet but I was like you when I bought mine and I watched plenty of comparison vids and overall they all say that it's not worth it to upgrade the base model unless you really need the extra power. It's better to put that extra money to more RAM or more storage.
