after you root can you do a factory reset and restore it back to factory settings

@track1 yes! install a custom recovery and do a back up of your factory rom. To get back to factory---unroot and relock the boot loader. you have to search for a root tool that has restore to factory option.

No. The atrix hd bootloader is locked. You'll be stuck on ICS until Motorola updates it.

But still...... 70$???? What can the s3 do that the Atrix HD can't?

I think the stock s3 is good the way it is. if I root it then I lose all the motion like palm swipe, put the phone face down to silence

this is is the same thing I said, I dont see any point of rooting my gs3.
