I just finished it.

With Simone, whether in Luke Cage or in this show, she does well with what they give her but I'm not sure if she is simply being typecast as the sassy black girl role in everything or whether she simply lacks the range to ever be the love interest or main villain(ness). She stays being the 3rd most important female with an "aight" subplot.

she’s great on All Rise. I recommend it.

Okay finished the season. It was really dope, hopefully we get a third. Mackie did his thing. That last drink scene with Poe was hitting. They both had great chemistry together. Mackie scenes with quell were always great too. I admit could’ve been better world building and futuristic looking in it.

Just finished the season and overall I thought it was :ehh:

I can definitely see some of the issues people had with world-building/budget for Season 2 though, Harlan's world wasn't as interesting overall as the 1st planet Kovacs was on.

Poe continues to bring a lot of heart to the story and is a true friend :obama:

I did enjoy the time they incorporated elements from Season 1 and there are some really good action scenes and one element in particular that is used is impressive.

Will be interesting to see where they go with the story if the series gets picked up for Season 3, if enough people watch.

The women on the show are :takedat:, Simone in particular although they keep her in the same outfit for most of the season :shaq2:

At one point I was like :ohhh: when they were taking the mining tunnels to the Stronghold. We got three legit Black characters carrying the story on a major show-- sci-fi at that. No drugs, hood shyt, civil rights. Just pure entertainment with a dope story.

This was my biggest take away from this Season and it was really inspiring to see this on a platform as large as Netflix. Also made sense why this dropped in February (Black History Month).

Missick and Goldsberry were both the 2 baddest women through out the whole series and when they were on screen together :whew::ohlawd::banderas:

I'd fukk the living shyt out of Quell. And she 50!? :noah:

I hear there is a lot more detail in the later books on the Elders, even hints of why they disappeared (Missick's wife implies maybe there was a war but against who they don't know). Mackie did alright, it's a damn Netflix series not Downton Abbey.

Looks like they all died out.

But if the technology came from them how did it happen?
:jbhmm:

In the books, the Elders were first discovered via abandoned bases and fossils on Mars. They had faster than light (FTL) communications which humans copied and star charts which indicated habitable worlds which is how the colony ships knew where to go to (including Harlan's World). After stacks were invented (not Elder tech, Quell invented these) the FTL comm was used to 'needlecast' consciousness across the galaxy so people could travel without long interstellar voyages. The Founders of Harlan's World arrived on a colony ship after decades of travel at less than the speed of light.
