Goff gonna get clowned based off the stats but to me that was majority on Ben Johnson. It took awhile to realize it but he was clearly tilted all game and trying to make a point to Washington, after the coaching search debacle last year (when they leaked all that negative bs about him after he declined their offer). This was a "my way or the highway" gameplan and it killed us. Gibbs was destroying Washington all game yet we were in shotgun on 3rd and 1? Gibbs constantly benched for Montgomery, who had a couple nice runs but didn't look right. Jamo trick play pass when you're only down 10 and need points? At nearly every opportunity to turn that into a normal game, Ben Johnson said fukk that. And it killed us.

I don't want to hear another Jared Goff chant. I don't want to hear anymore shyt about bully ball. This coaching staff is too fukking emotional and it is KILLING us on the biggest stages. Good riddance Ben. I'll miss Glenn but hopefully now we can get someone who values pass rushers more.

It should be noted that this was the first dud draft for Holmes. They got nothing out of these guys. Arnold was terrible.
He was handsy early on and got alot of penalties but he had a solid rookie year overall. Definitely sticky in coverage. Rakestraw and Wingo got hurt. Mahogany is future starter a G. Hopefully Manu is Decker replacement. Vaki was good on special teams. They took more developmental guys this draft that weren’t forced to play immediately

Feels like the window is closed. Honestly.
Not at all. Hutch will be back and Smith should be still under contract. The defensive line should be great. Holmes will make improvements. I will say they don't want to have to be forced to depend on Goff having a great game to win.

This is a casual take IMO. That draft is basically what Baltimore and other great teams do every year: get some depth, get some development guys, and fill small holes. The roster was simply too good for us to have a bunch of rookies make impact. Arnold played well overall and was in phase more often than not. He'll be really good next season, I have zero concerns about him. My only draft issue was Rakestraw. Good player but how many shots are we gonna take on injury prone players only for it to blow up in our face immediately. I'm not sure he's durable enough to play NFL special teams and I'm not sure there's a starting spot for him on defense so....what's the plan next season. We just wait for year 3, when Amik is gone and he can compete for nickel?

Get Goof out of my city
Goff is decent enough to win with he's just not dependable enough to be the primary reason you win. Keep the run game strong and have the defense deliver and he's good enough. They're stuck with him anyway. There's nobody else they have access to that will keep them at this level plus he was re-signed.

You think defenses weren’t already gameplanning for Gibbs? :why:
Is Amon Ra, Laporta, Jamo, Montgomery going somewhere?

Cause of that great O Line but changes are inevitable

I said after the first game this season, the Boyz and 9ers windows closed

Said Lions better win this season or it's over. These other teams are coming and they're younger and hungrier

Sewell and Ragnow are still young and all pros. Mahogany has played great as a rookie at guard. I can see a decline in Decker but they already have a guy their developing to replace him. They have one of the best oline coaches in NFL. Not worried about oline

Cowboys went into salary cap hell and couldn’t improve their roster. And 49ers were also decimated with injuries like Lions

Lions probably have a couple more years to be in championship window. Hutch, Kerby, Branch, Jamo, Laporta, Gibbs are all gonna get monster contracts especially Hutch. They wont be able to keep everyone. But that's in a few years

I have no confidence in Jared Goff.

Goff will be fine and I'd imagine the next playcaller won't be stupid enough to sideline Gibbs or call stupid trick plays while down. Johnson constantly had issues with pacing his calls. Especially when it comes to ensuring you at least get points as you get around the half field mark. That's where a lot of dumb shyt starts happening for this team and it killed us with that Jamo pass play. Was he stupid to throw it? Yes. But his coaches failed him by putting him in that position.

The thing I'm concerned about is the locker room. If you're a player right now, some doubt is creeping in. These guys didn't look prepared or mentally ready for this game. They faced a team that had zero fear of them, and we blinked. That bully ball aura is gone. I'm not sure how much harder guys can go before we see a crash. And looking at how rough the schedule is next season....it's gonna take a master class in coaching to be ready. e

On the positive side Hutch will be back. I assume we'll get pass rushers (spoiler: we're gonna draft Landon Jackson, write it down). The roster will remain really good, it's just gonna be about mental fortitude. And I'm def worried after tonight.

not as upset as i thought i would be :manny:

Lions have desensitized me over my lifetime to disappointment. Surprised not shocked

Whoever comes out of AFC gonna win it all. NFC is weaker than we thought. NFC north got exposed in playoffs

Haven’t looked much a draft. Wouldn’t mind Sawyer from OSU though. Seems like a Campbell kinda guy
