People are allowed to be upset, I’ve been mad about Oscar snubs before too, but at the end of the day what the academy says doesn’t really matter and they often get it wrong. I’m just not that mad about it because of the caliber of actor Hopkins is

Talking about “Anthony Hopskins was the best performance of the year” fukk outta here.


Chadwick could play a terminally ill elder man but Hopkins could NEVER play a black man dealing with simmering rage at a racist society. Chadwick channeled that character with his own heart and soul ti give a truly iconic performance.

Because he's listed "police officer" alongside protected classes. He may be right, but it's still a chosen profession and nothing like the rest of groups he listed.

Boseman lost because the Academy cannot STAND giving black actors leading Awards.

Only FOUR black men in the HISTORY of the Oscars have won Best Leading Actor. FOUR!

I haven't watched this awards season but in general black actors have to campaign much harder than white counterparts.

I don't know if his team thought they had awards season wrapped up and slowed down on the campaigning.

The Academy is filled with old white guys who would rather go with a veteran than a newcomer (decades as oppose to 10 years). Hopkins won the BAFTAs as well.


Also the old members hate Netflix, they think it is not a way to watch cinema/movies.

I have not watched either movie so I can't comment on performance.

Regardless, this is insane logic. Comparing performances, and art in general, is already pretty stupid...but this is another level lol.
