Those Cubans vote Repub all the time anyway so I don’t see why that matters.

One thing to look at is Bernie turning out low wage workers in FL’s tourism industry.

Look which metro is last in average wage...

shyt is crazy. I live in Orlando and these Disney workers get raped out here:snoop:

The two biggest counties in central Florida Orange County and Osceola always go Democrat and Miami Dade goes Democrat too but the amount of Cubans in Miami and republicans in other parts of Florida is enough for them to always win. We need Obama numbers.
You know deklantis is gonna try some fukk shyt.

Most Cuban immigration took place in the 1950s/60s, and those are the main ones who really care about Communism like that. They're all old and are either Republicans or dead.

Their grandchildren ain't stressing shyt like that, young Cubans were some of the main ones who were looking to reengage relations with Cuba and reconnect to their heritage. Overall Cubans nationally are about 50-50 Democratic/Republican with the young ones leaning strong Democrat just like other Latinos, and Cold War-era fearmongering ain't gonna win them over.

They are the ones who are going to double down the most.

Nah man, Latinos pissed at Trump. Back in the day George W. was pulling 30% of them but it looks like Trump might only get 20% in 2020. Possibly even worse if Bernie activates his Latino supporters better than Trump does his.

In Texas, where Latinos are on track to be the largest ethnic group in the Republican-controlled state, 6 in 10 Latino voters said they would vote against Trump, while less than a quarter said they would vote for him, with 18 percent undecided.

About one-third of Texas’ Latinos voted for Trump in 2016, according to exit polls. But the Equis research found his support is now at about 22 percent.

Deep dive poll of Latino voters aims to ramp up 2020 election outreach

You know what Texas is looking like if only 20-25% of Latinos back Trump and they get heavy Black and urban liberal turnout? :whew:

None of them have a chance at beating Trump.

That's why I'm only worrying about my local elections. :yeshrug:
Do you think climate change is real, and if so, how do you feel about 4 more years of absolutely nothing being done to stop it.

So Warren announces she'll be dropping out tomorrow, yes? :sas1:
How long will she continue to set her supporters money on fire? Is splitting the progressive vote that important? :mjpls:

:whoa: slow down there, you're definitely right about the split between young and old cubans on left and right, but even the most lefty millenials like myself are center-left, we voted for Obama but Bernie is no Obama. Socialism is still a cuss word for us, dont matter if its the hardcore Cac Cubans that left in the 50s and 60s or the more diverse group that came after Mariel Boat Lift/Special Period. He aint getting nothing done with Miami-Dade as far as the Hispanic vote, too many Cubans/Venezuelans/Nicaraguans.

Texas latinos particularly are pretty conservative. I predict Trump wins 1/3rd of them again.

We haven't seen it tested yet, you'd know better than I would. :yeshrug:

Those numbers were specifically Texas, only 21% saying they will "definitely" or "probably" vote for Trump and 78% saying they don't like how he treats Latinos. And don't forget they had that mass shooting there too where that MAGA guy was specifically targeting Latinos, that can have an impact.
