I think Minny just wants to dump salary to go after a free agent (either Lowry or Milisap). Utah has a trade exemption that expires at midnight and can absorb Rubio's salary straight in I believe. May take just a non guaranteed contract or a second rounder or something so that they're sending something back.

Why would Minnesota want a 3pt shooting no defense PF when they already have one on the roster in Towns?

T-Wolves need a rim protecting center like JaVale McGee to put beside Towns. Contrary to the ignorant masses out there, Towns is not a center. He's a PF. Minnesota doesn't need another PF. They need a real center who will block shots.
