The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
It only worked cause Brooklyn really needed to move Brook off and getting a potential All Star combo guard is damn near impossible with their pick situation. There's no similar place or situation with KP and Noah. Making that trade happen would be twice the challenge.

Brooklyn would probably take The contract but would need multiple picks knicks can't afford to give up

Makes sense. Guarantee that was a deal breaker for Boston

Everyone knocks Danny for not doing anything, but fail to realize he hasn't picked up shyt contracts like several other teams have.

Mozgov, Noah, Evan Turner, Greg Monroe.
I mean, yeah Celtics maxed Horford, but you'd take Horford over those players every time I think.

If Danny staying away from bad contracts is the reason we haven't made any big trades yet, I'm more than fine with that.

Side note, giving IT a max contract will be a bad contract and something I'm not on board with. I'd let him walk personally.

:hhh:

The horford contract was the worst contract given out last year

U don't pay a top 35 player max especially when u have a chance to get a bunch of top 20 players

That contract will prevent them from getting one of george or Hayward, boogie, Westbrook etc.

The Horford contract isn't great, I agree. But at least he's a starter, who have decent production. Years 3 and 4 of that contract will really suck, but it shouldn't prevent us from one big signing this free agency period.

We definitely over paid for Horford, but considering no top free agents ever picked Boston in the history of Celtics basketball, we had to give a top 30-40 more money then they deserve to lure them here.

Now we got a fairly attractive core, in a weak East conference, which should help attract another high caliber player.

Lol at mentioning Westbrook and Boogie. Neither are signing in Boston. Paul George, without a sign and trade isn't either. It'll come down to Hayward/Blake. In 2019, with all our young players and assets, if we really wanted to dump Horford, we will surely find a taker, similar to Brooklyn taking on Mozgov to get Russell.

Dominique Wilkins did in 95. He picked Boston over the Knicks, LA, and Suns

I guess, but he was 35 years old, came for one season, had the worst season of his career since his rookie year, and then didn't even play in the NBA the next season.

Based solely on name power? Sure. But was he a top free agent in 1995? I'd say prob not at that point in his career.

Not even top 3. Evan Tuner, Mozgov, and Noah contacts are worse. At least Horford produces something on the court.
Nah Boston is in position to win in 2 years that contracts prevents them from signing an actual good max player
