I seen on espn.com that the Shumpert deal would be for non-guaranteed contracts. Giving the Cavs cap space. If I'm Morey I do it. You're getting a really good defender/streak shooter for basically nothing.

Then, when they lose 50 games, it'll be "wait til next year"

It's a great move because It's a one year deal. There is a salary floor. Why not get to the floor with a player on a one year deal. Let the young players play, then come back next summer with Max money still available. Not to mention if a star gets dumped you have an expiring contract to go get that player.

Who said they are going to be a threat? They are a young team that needed veteran presence if they want to make the playoffs.

Also, Simmons & Fultz are secondary, everything about the Sixers success rides on whether or not Embiid is healthy. If he plays 60+ games they will make the playoffs, it's that simple.

It's easy to look like a good shooting guard with CP3 and Blake Griffin. He's not going to get those same looks, and his motivation to compete is basically gone now that's he's on a team with no expectations and a huge contract. I wouldn't have made this deal

Why won't he? Brett Brown is a great coach. if Fultz and Simmons are studs like people project and if Embiid stays healthy. Ok,that's a lot of ifs but I do think great coaching and Fultz is gonna be a great player
