He was a chance of being an alternate for the 4x400. shyt he was racing against grown mens - can't a brother have hope anymore?
I werent shyttin on him, but the Mens American 400ms is so stacked, he never had a chance tbh. If it was other events then yeah but the 400m nah.
He would've made it into the final if he didn't have the mental barrier of lane 8, TWICE in a row.
Hart wanted him to trial as a learning curve for next month. [/quote]
Excuses, he should get use to it, thats what the rounds in the major competitions are all about. Lane 1 is more of a mental barroer than lane 8 is. Lane 8 you can run your own race, Lane 1 because of the sharp bends and lack of space you have, also when you see everyone infront of you, you can get caught out in tryin to catch people.
What'chu talking about, that he ain't the best junior in the country? He's #1 in the US and #2 in the world; just turned 18, nikka still got two seasons left.
The people under 20 Now
Luguelín Santos 44.45
Kirani James 44.72 - Who only happens to be the Men 400m World Champion
Deon Lendore 45.13
Now the US 20 year olds
Michael Berry 44.75
Joshua Mance 44.83 & 44.99 and he aint even been 20 for 6 months yet
He's got the National record + 6th fastest time in high-school history (fastest in the last 17 years) - had he not eased up in the ending-stages he would've broken Jerome Young's record EASILY and he would've been #2 all time (#1 all time electronic). p
You know how many fast promisin youngsters I've seen over the years who beasted at junior level and never amounted to shyt when they stepped up against the worlds elite, alot. So many flash in the pans start off great after a couple of seasons they either injury prone or just not lived up to hype
Sky's the ceiling for him. Duke's got more potential than Warnier and Merritt. He gonna' catch wind at the next Olympics.
I never said it wasnt for him, just sayin what you wanted for him now, was unrealistic.
