title track is too piff

The drop of the beat and then the drums coming in at the middle of the song . "Now I see it's not enough/I wish you were here with me/I can no longer take it all/Wish you would not come back to me..." Beautiful stuff.

But, the album. I've listened to twice, and it's pretty good, but it just doesn't resonate with me in the way that Sisterworld and Drum's Not Dead did. There's some great, great stuff (specifically Octagon, A Ring on Every Finger, and Flood to Flood) here, and generally this is a direction that I would like to see the band continue with in some respect in later projects.

But No. 1 Against The Rush and His and Mine Sensations just seem a bit flaccid to me. No. 1 Against The Rush specifically sounds like a Postal Service song, and I have no desire to ever be reminded of a Ben Gibbard project again.

Still, great record, and I will be picking it up in physical form, if for no other reason than to hear Octagon and WIXIW in my car.

definitely. i can already tell its gonna be my go to summer album, lotta 3am beers are gonna be drank along with it. i just cant get over how much the lyrics have improved, some real great lines on there.

So Liars is my AOTY.

Amazing stuff. I've only listened to it a couple of times but I'd already say I'd rank it higher than s/t, Sisterworld and Trench. It's probably better than They Were Wrong as well.

Drum's Not Dead will probably always be their crowning achievement, but this doesn't seem far off.

Incredible production and atomsphere. Not many bands have had just a diverse run of albums. It's crazy how they switch their style up time and time again.

BTW, how do people rate They Were Wrong, So We Drowned anyway? I was thinking of giving it a fresh listen (along with PiL's Flowers of Romance and my Boredoms albums, which I'm currently going through). I'm curious to find out.

But I also said that when I heard "Two Weeks," and Vecktamiest was incredibly dull. So we'll see.

I have never heard an Animal Collective song since Sung Tongs that sounded better in its infant live version than it wound up on the record. So based off the infant live versions of the 8 out of 11 songs from the new album, this is ALREADY album of the year before a single song has been released.

Yeah, that might seem like some fanboy shyt, but its the truth. The only two average songs from their tour were already released and arent even going to be on the album, and the studio versions were gigantic improvements from the live ones.

Only thing that is going to bring the album down is if the 3 unheard songs suck, but I just dont see that happening. This album sounds like a cosmic carnival, shyt is bananas

Animal collective is always on teh "meh" side to me. They are pretty good but I wouldn't call them one of my favs tho. Really amped to hear what the XX has been working on for three fukking years tho. Their debut was ill
