So I just got around to cleaning out my cache and listening to new albums, and that Dirty Projectors record has to be one of the most boring things I've heard all year.

Like, it actually sapped my will to live a little. Holy shyt.

I'm just going to drop this here:

On first listen:

1. I need to listen to this with better speakers.

2. I feel like I'm forcing myself to like it more than I actually like it. I don't hate it or anything, but it's not hitting me like I think it should. Could be the speakers. (The second listen is a little better...)

I'm cautiously optimistic about the third album.

I kinda feel the same way. I like Plague, but it's kinda just there. Even sounds like it should be mixed again. But..... New music means an album and tour are following, and I caraway more about the live show/album than the first single.

You might be right. Took another listen to it and it sounded REALLY cloistered and flat, much flatter than a song like this should sound. Nothing really pops out in the mix. It's mindboggling.

Anyone listen to a series of mixtapes by a cat named James Fauntleroy?
They're called Cocaine 80s and are dope as fukk. His style is similar to Frank Ocean.

New Bat for Lashes for nikkas who up on her. Pretty standard piano ballad with her good voice and very memorable chorus. I can see the album being nice if she keeps it this solid throughout. I only like about half of two suns.

Bat For Lashes - Laura - YouTube

Same here. The first half of Two Suns was awesome, but then it got too mushy at the end.

How's that new No Doubt album. I'm not feeling the song they have out now.

as i understand it, cocaine 80s is No I.D.'s group that consists of him producing with Fauntleroy and Victoria Monet (was featured on You Wouldn't Understand on Life is Good) on vocals. Fauntleroy himself has been writing for many pop acts for quite a while much like Frank Ocean did before he blew up. Unfortunately for Fauntleroy he hasn't found the same success.
