Keyword being investments. He said the US dollar is stable and I pointed out that over time the value of the usd goes down cuz of prices going up. Look at inflation right now. Prices rising and a dollar is still a dollar no matter what. It doesn't matter what the investment is but anything that grows wealth is better than a "supposedly stable" USD.

Your issue is the tax system, not the taxes on crypto.

Same thing would happen if the same amount of money was stolen.

Crypto just isn't as stable as people would like to make it.
you have a point.

but it needs to be echoed that the government hates crypto. However, once it's "contained" they'll be all about it

I don’t think it works like that. This isn’t a financial tool like a Roth IRA where you can defer taxes. The income was money converted into bitcoin. If you could just be paid in bitcoin and defer taxes, bitcoin would be worth a lot more.

It would literally subvert the economy.

You have to pay taxes on crypto so that doesn't make any sense, the blockhain makes it impossible to hide, that's makes bitocin cultist so stupid thinking its an anonymous payment

which it use to be when it was only peer to peer, most people buy of exchanges where they have all their information and once you sell the bitcoin you will be taxed for it

Newsflash

Bitcoin is valued in USD, if the USD goes down so does bitcoin because you have to convert it to USD for it be money

When Bitcoin goes down YOU LOSE USD

When the USD loses value prices just go up

"ItS NoT a LosS UnLesS you SeLl!"

I"ve worked in investments my entire life, and never heard this idiotic phrase used until the Crypto and WSB bro's gained an audience.

My takes:
  • Its incredibly foolish to accept your salary in any form of speculative investment. And although CEO's are mostly paid off of stock options, at least they have some semblance of control on their performance.
  • Just because something has ostensibly 'dipped' does not mean that it cannot fall even further. In other words, there is nothing preventing Bitcoin from falling to $10k. In which case selling at $35k would appear awfully prudent.

I wouldn’t put all of your life savings in bitcoin or crypto. People need to learn that diversifying is the key in everything including life in general.

When you talking about stocks its true, you never lose any money unless the stock falls to zero, you can always just hold and average down and make your money back when it goes back up

Brehs really investing out here with no idea what opportunity cost means

I'm not really into speculative trading because I know I'd be competing with people who can and do manipulate markets

But the half baked logic I've seen from some of these crypto defenders in these thread making me think there might be enough bigger fools out there that even someone like me without an insider trading network could take advantage :heh:

Opportunity cost are POTENTIAL GAINS, you could've had, you didn't lose anything

If you hold and sell at a profit or break even you haven't lost, which is the fact I stated

once again, fact investment gurus who have zero investments, zero property, zero assets, living lies on the coli speaking about stuff they have no idea about

GET OFF MY dikk, i wasn't even defending cryptp I was shytting on it, nobody uses stocks as income its a long term investment you hold, which is the point I was making, accept your salary as bitocin is as stupid as accepting stocks as income

Warren Buffet would like a word with you:stopitslime:

Warren Buffet only invest in things he understands, nobody who invest in bitcoin understands it

you have people thinking its a currency to compete against the dollar, other think its an asset you hold like Gold, some people think it's the revolutionary weapon against the federal reserve

the reality is none of these people know anything about bitcoin, don't even know how it's update, they think its decentralized when it's not, etc
