Ocean's 8 (Bullock, Rihanna, Awkwafina) thread

It was far fetched based on the type of movie it is homie. If you’ve seen an oceans movie you’d know that’s not the type of characters it traffics in. Bernie Mac and don cheadle played two great characters in the first three flicks. Both with their own expertise but also being “proper” criminals. This is a classy series. So while I understand where you’re coming from the comment feels ignorant based on the context for which you were applying it

I guess I'm just jaded and don't trust hollywood at all (I've even speculated that they would turn the black guy in Star Wars into a gay character). I enjoyed the other ocean movies though. But still, the type of movie don't matter to me. You just can't trust a white producer, white director, or white writers to properly handle black characters. Hope I'm wrong with this movie though.

I’m not a cynic so I while I understand where you’re coming from it’s not something I subscribe to. Also wouldn’t care if Finn was gay *shrug* but that’s a different discussion for a different day.

But back to the original point: if you know Bernie and Don played non stereotypical roles and it’s produced by the same people why would they suddenly go against what’s worked? Your feelings would make more sense if there was a track record of this team for you to be like “nah” but they’ve shown the opposite

it’s been out for a month at this point and already made most of its money. I think it crossed the 100 mill mark a few weeks ago. WB is happy so it’s time to wind it down.
