I think the argument that some conservatives are making....that website technical difficulties reflect a bad health policy...that's just batshyt insane.
1. word on the streets is that the company contracted to do this is canadian and they've spend hundreds of dollars outsourcing this job.
2. actual costs are going up to $600 to some who were told it was gonna be $300..
3. "you can keep your insurance plan if you like it". << a lie. ppl are getting notices to cancel their insurance from insurance companies.
no one's gonna get fired. maybe some low level person that doesn't matter. they'll just be transfered to some other job and still climb up in ranks. As a person who works for the company, let me clear a few things up:
1. It's a Canadian firm, but not really. CGI Federal is a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent company CGI. It was bought by CGI back in 2006 I think. But we have our own Board Of Directors and a legal structure that is separate form the parent company. 100% of the workers are American or HB1 visa holding immigrants. We can't even communicate with the parent company without documenting that communication so there is a firewall of sorts.
2. 600 million included other contracts with HHS department. The actual cost of the website was $80 million.
It's still a fukked up situation for the company though. shyt has been real tense at the home office I hear. Someone is going to get fired over this l think. We went from being anonymous to being infamous in two weeks.

quite frankly i don't care. they can give the job to north korea, syria or iran i dont give a sh1t.
they'll just come up with more lies to cover up more lies to spin ppl's head and i really don't have time to investigate bullsh1t which doesn't matter.
they'll pull an IT remix of this sh1t and everything will be cool:Nah, it might be the project manager on that particular project. Might even be the VP of the practice.
