Bill was still a pretty universally revered figure for the entire Bush era, he didn't start getting his comeuppance until like mid-Obama era. Obama getting clapped at and told to shut up by freshman Democratic congress members 4 years after he left office, and his administration was getting called out by this wing of the party pretty early into the Trump era. Probably because the Party got gutted under his stewardship. No one in this wing is asking to play Obama's greatest hits.

If Obama was as transformative a president as you think, Trump doesn’t get elected and Democratic policies would be entrenched in America.

I’m not denying that there was a white backlash, but Obama was elected and re-elected with more votes than what Trump was elected with. Racism is definitely a major factor along with Obama’s administration not doing much to actually help peoples lives change. He came in with a super majority in the senate and house and lost it, largely because he tried to accommodate Republican obstructionists. He had a genuine wave election and mandate and only helped the elites. This has nothing to do with Bernie Sanders, and everything to do with the Dem establishment fumbling the bag when the nation needed real change.

The Black Lives Matter movement literally started during his presidency because people felt like enough was enough.

People don't love that national policy as it stands, they just like it better than the alternative of nothing. Biden ran on drastically reforming/completing it. He's already saying Obamacare + Public Option = Bidencare. Obamacare as we know it won't exist in a few years.

I still don't understand why we're talking about Bush Jr when my claim was that Obama's cache with young/progressive voters has suffered and his Presidency is aging badly like Bill Clinton's. No one serious is looking to the Clinton era with adoring eyes anymore. That is already the path the Obama era is on. The Youth/Left wing of the party aren't clamoring for a rerun of the 8 years of Republican obfuscation and Dem capitulation leading to ruin that marked the Obama years. Obama's accomplishments aren't revered by this wing. At least Clinton and his cronies got about a decade to bask in the sun.

A good amount of Democrat Administrations will "age poorly" to the youth/left wing of the party in subsequent years because the young democrats are more progressive than older democrats (on average) and thus administrations will always be seen as not going far enough or getting enough done. Thats just how it is and will be.

Clinton's administration was buoyed by the tech boom, of which they had very little do with. Right place right time. He got impeached and left the office in disgrace and his sub prime mortgage policies lead to the crash in 08 (after bush neglected them and/or exacerbated them).

Obama didnt leave the office in disgrace nor will his policies lead to a crash.

There is really no possible metric to say that Obamas administration will age just as poorly or moreso than Clintons

Plus there is a better chance Michelle would win if she ran than Hillary..who was the one of the worst candidates in modern history.
