why do people need assault rifles
It was stupid to bundle the assault weapon bans with the background checks
they were separate amendments
The vote on the so-called Manchin-Toomey amendment was 54 in favor, 46 against failing to reach the 60-vote threshold needed to move ahead. Four Republicans supported it, and four Democrats voted no.
A controversial Democratic plan to ban dozens of military-style assault weapons was also defeated by a vote of 40 to 60.
its a fukking shame how GUNS have more protection than minorities and women in this country ever had
It was stupid to bundle the assault weapon bans with the background checks .
sad saw one of the fathers of one of the sandy hook victims speak
this congress is worthless and the Republicans are complete scumbags

only an absolute dummy would think including an extended background check in the same bill that bans scary looking guns is a good idea. you clearly dont even understand what this is about.
then they throw some sobby father on tv to tug on your heart strings and make you feel bad about guns n stuff. and people like you eat it up and then blame republicans.
Let's be reality though...you can't stop crazy. You can put a million laws on the books and if someone wants to do something nuts, they gonna do it.
Crazy gonna Crazy.
I really read it too. I goofedI'm disappointed in you.
This is indeed shameful. I wonder what catastrophe would have to take place for our elected officials to come to their senses. If children dying in a massacre isn't enough, then what will it take?
Sandy Hook tragedies aren't the only way people die from guns goofball.
It was stupid to bundle the assault weapon bans with the background checks but that doesnt make the background checks a bad idea. Look how easy it is for anyone, including felons and fugitives to buy guns online

You dont think thats worth dealing with through legislation?
Dont be one of those kneejerk reactionary right wingers, Im so fukking tired of them and their lack of critical thinking skills, I thought you were smarter than that.
The bipartisan Senate compromise under consideration would require that background checks be conducted through federally licensed dealers on all Internet and gun show sales.
Come on who's surprised by this?
