Some weeks are more deadly than others just like any city with major movement. One week 10 people will get murdered then another week only :deadrose:. It's not always easy to predict...

Oakland
The town is trash right now…it’s both a gentrified shell of itself, while being prohibitively expensive AND high crime and blight. Like how TF can you pay $1.5M for a 1600sq ft house built in 1920 and walk two blocks and stumble across a whole tent village and abandoned restaurant tagged TF up. Pretty much outside of LA, the Bay, NY, and DC, you drop $1.5M on a home and you’re in a clean, well resourced residential environment.

Oakland is fukking awful

I went there October of last year. Went to Walgreens and an old lady walking out talking about “stay safe in here.” :gucci:

Armed guards on every single corner downtown…dirty af, homeless/fiends everywhere. shyt it bad man
Should've gone to Sacramento instead. Its a better city for black folk and a better city period, and has been for going on a decade now...
By design folks...by design

Take what they have, let situations worsen so that everything crumbles then swoop in and take and erase........same play as always........ they been plotting on Oakland for the longest....... once they got the teams to start leaving it was a wrap for sure
Bruh I've been telling people for years that The Bay is the worst major city/area for black people in the United States, mf's thought I was clowning but the proof has always been in the pudding...

When they decided San Francisco was no longer for black people, the fate of The Bay for us was sealed. This is why when we talk California politics and culture, I always defend Los Angeles. It has never at any point been as threatening for our existence as The Bay. There's always been more black political reach in LA, always a larger and stronger black middle class, always more black wealth, always less black poverty, always a more diverse black community in LA period...

But mf's thought I was just talking...

Now over the last 8-10 years they've finally gotten their hooks into Oakland and decided they no longer want black people there, either. It's over with and all the signs on this shyt have been there for years----->mf's thought it couldn't happen to them because it's "The Town", thought they couldn't pull the tricks they pulled in San Fran on em...

I'm never advocating for black folk to give up without a fight but they are literally beating the fight outta Black Oakland as evidenced by the droves of black folk leaving for years. And without the established economic framework necessary for black people to fight back politically, the road back for Oakland as a desirable place for black people gets longer and longer...

The black capital of NorCal, and second best city for black people in California, is Sacramento, where we have and/or are establishing everything that used to be great about being black in The Bay...
Oakland is done!!

And im in LA

You know shyt bad when I get to see Oakland news where brothers got robbed near the airport of all their luggage and phones and another story of a old black man getting pushed down and robbed by 2 nikkas…

These nikkas everywhere not only in Oakland has no respect for other blacks especially the elderly anymore
Fam I been telling you for years that LA is nowhere near in the dire shape for us as The Bay...
But why is the crime so bad?
It's always been bad in Oakland. The crime isn't really worse, it's just never gotten demonstrably better, and it's gotten more expensive...

It's some of the worst I've seen. Town started going downhill after 2016 and got strapped to a damn millstone and thrown in the Bay after 2020 :mjcry:

Oakland also never defunded the police. They've increased the budget. Cops are lazy, and the county DA is seen as soft on crime and is about to get recalled.
Damn.... I went out there in 2013 and it was looking like and the talk was it was in the midst of a gentrification boom..... shyt went south it seems..... always got time for The Town. :mjcry:

My wife was at a red light on 40th and telegraph a couple weeks back and, she looked in her rearview and there was a group of kids alternating between bipping parked cars and ones with drivers in them in her lane. Luckily no one was in front of her so she was able to bend the corner against the red, but she said that she was so startled that she didn't even check to see if she was turning into any traffic first (luckily there wasn't)
