not outside, the city has experienced gentrification. mainly in west oakland. the demographics in the new area compared to the former? the coliseum complex (oracle and oakland coliseum) was in an area populated primarily by working class blacks and mexicans. its basically in my old church backyard. the As, Raiders and Warriors all shared that space.
where the chase arena is, well put it like this. compare the east oakland valuation to the current valuation and there's your answer.
most of them people got pushed out to stockton, antioch, etc. contra costa and san Joaquin countiesOk so where did all the poor/working class blacks & Mexicans get pushed out to when Oakland got gentrified?
And who is doing all the crimes and why?
Is there a good movie or documentary that covers this period?most of them people got pushed out to stockton, antioch, etc. contra costa and san Joaquin counties
a majority of the people committing crimes in oakland now are MEXICAN. the black population in the city has declined. matter of fact to keep it a hunnit. when west oakland was being gentrified, there was a write up in the Tribune about the results of it.
what did that article address? a 45% decline in violent crime.
Is there a good movie or documentary that covers this period?
Like something that contrasts Oakland before and after gentrification from a black perspective?
Also is everything in Oakland basically bilingual these day in Spanish and English
Isn’t there a large Asian population too?
