Midseason form for Kanter.

Starting line-up for tn confirmed, all Vets and RJ.

This leaves a really intriguing second unit.
Frank - Zo - Knox - Taj? - Portis

The spacing on the second unit should be really good. The defense even with Frank and Taj is shaky though unless Zo, Knox and/or Portis take steps on that end. I don't mind the starting unit but the spacing is....less than ideal and reminds me a bit of last year when we had a lot of groupings that cluttered the floor while the few plays we had all aimed at getting into the paint. That said, the problem exists with any of our PG's unless they've improved as a three point shooter. DSJ is hopeful, Frank is pulling the trigger more and Payton you hope has learned in his time how to work around the lack of jumper.

frank should start at pg since its pre season.
dennis smith doing windmills and shyt from da freethrow during practice for no reason and then wonders why he has back problems:snoop:

Payton might surprise some of you guys. Frank will need to fight for minutes or hope DSJ shoots bricks and doesn’t contribute on defense.

That startling lineup has no shooting.
Frank should be starting IMO.

A Frank/RJ/Knox or Morris/Randle/Robinson is the most balanced lineup w/ DSJ out,
especially if Frank shoots well from 3 this season

Payton over Frank is really cluttered spacing. I assume the same with DSJ

This only makes sense if Randle has become a 37+% 3pt shooter and/or RJ
turns out to be a better 3pt shooter than expected.

Looks at it this way guys. We have a lineup with two guards capable of getting a triple double. It's like the Great Value version of what Houston have with Harden and Westbrook.

I know a majority of y'all will disagree with me on this but I'd be hype with this lineup. I think they'll play well together. Put RJ at PG as well.

Mitchell Robinson
Julius Randle
Marcus Morris
Wayne Ellington
R.J. Barrett

This would be our best line-up in my opinion. I don’t know if R.J.’s handle is good enough to be point but he has the P&R ability. This is a line up with shooting and size.

If we’re playing a huge team like the 76ers or Lakers this is the starting 5, I would experiment with.

I'm a big fan of playing players in their natural positions, especially if they're inexperienced and still developing.

I'm not surprised at all that Payton is starting, he played well for NOP last year, certainly better than Mudiay played for us. Wouldn't be shocked if he's a starter even when DSJ is healthy.

Although DSJ is healthy I don't really see where Frank gets his minutes. I don't think Fiz or management counted on Frank having a good showing at World Cup. He's most likely 3rd/4th on depth chart at PG, SG and SF.

I think he'll get a moderate amount of minutes behind Elfrid and if he transitions into FIBA Frank, he'll work the 1 and 2 more often than not. If he sucks, those minutes will go to RJ.

Nah, he’s already a naturally high usage player who needs the ball.

By far one of his best skills is his passing in P&R situations. It’s not out the question for me.
rj barrett is a ball hog lol
you gonna find out real quickly
