NEW YORK CITY
the difference between LA and NYC tourism is that people fly to JFK or wherever and mainly only go to NYC.. they aint going to buffalo or some shyt.. so comparing NYC(9 million people) to LA (3.5 million people) is unfair.. because people can fly into Long Beach or Burbank and spend 2-3 days in LA and spend 2-3 days in San Diego..

people drive or fly to San Diego, LA, SF, Oakland, Sacramento and travel north or south california

NYC always tryna lump they unique city infrastructure into total #'s when comparing to single cities that dont have the same unique set up (Burroughs)

270 million people a year visit California
65 million people a year visit New York State

it aint even comparable

Im not sure what in my post your referring to:dwillhuh:

Nyc nikkas dont vouch for the idea of New york State. Just the City

Of course California on a state level shyts on new york state. And thats even outside of the bay and la

We strictly city breh:francis:

NEW YORK CITY
For sure, I'm just clarifying that there are still majority black neighborhoods in LA, too...

I know NY has a large Carib and African population too, I guess my point is Black Americans are still the majority of Black NY and Black NY's foundation, and Caribs largely assimilate to Black American culture, not the other way around. So it's important to point out that NY's proximity to the cultural and physical heart of Black America is a huge advantage in how its black population got so large I'm the first place, that's not something LA could replicate...
thats not something new york is going to replicate in our life time either.

We all should just chill on that whole black population stuff

NYC is not fostering an environment for future black growth and development. Especially for ADOS

On a global scale NYC is the defining city of America

When dudes across the world who have never been to the USA think of America they think of New York

The statue of liberty, Time Square, Yellow Cabs etc

Same way when we think of England we think of London or when we think of Japan we think of Tokyo

Breh just to be fair, when I visited LA back in 2013, I’ve seen and ran into tourists and visitors from Australia, UK, Brazil, Nigeria, South Korea, Israel, Russia, etc.

I haven’t been to every part of LA (I was only there for 6 days, that city is too damn big to cover in that short amount of time) but I’ve seen these people at LAX, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Hollywood, and The Grove in Beverly Hills. Trust me, LA has a strong draw for foreigners as well.

Hell apparently Aussies stay booking trips to SoCal lol, that shyt might as well be their second home with how often they visit :russ:

New York State (NYC and all surrounding cities) peak is around 65 million total tourist visitors in a year (domestic and international)

California State peak is around 270 million total tourist visitors in a year (domestic and international)

where do you think those 270 million tourists go :skip: LA or the bay :skip:

you hear about people driving cross country to California :skip: never to New York :skip: who driving from Texas to New york :skip: thats a common occurrence here

this man said Japan :skip:

New York State has 1.2 million asians :skip:
California has 7 million asians :skip:

where do you think Asians flying into, especially Japan since Hawaii is on west coast :skip:

Australia :skip: you do know the flight from Australia to California is 6 hours less than to NYC, where do you think they flying too :skip:

:skip: mafukkas really retarded when they log into the coli

You shorting LA, it was 50 million the same year but the point still stands. No one thinks LA has more visitors, the issue is people who say LA ain't competitive...

LA has more tourists per capita, 50m to a city of 4m, 65m to a city of 8.4m in NY. A city gets 50m visitors and has every nationality on the globe represented and people really in this thread saying LA ain't got international pull lol. Population in NY is ~52% larger but just ~23% more tourists, contextualizing the numbers tells you its competitive...

Again though my larger point is no other city is close to either, they can really only be compared to each other...

oh no that’s facts LA definitely compares, it’s just a whole different vibe.

im from ny so I’m obviously biased but LA is a beautiful city. Beautiful women. But LA is a phony place, with phony people.

And while LA nightlife is good it can’t touch NY nightlife.

Bro we all biased g, it's all good! LA has some of the realest black culture in the country, but people aren't gonna know that unless they spend significant time in LA and actually know the people. They both dope...

that New York approval always meant something..the media and taste capital.

every single ball player wants to show out at Madison Square Garden
every rapper feels like they've made it once they do a show in New York
every youngin on the come up thats got their own fashion brand when they come to NY and do a pop up and it's successful it elevates them.

:yeshrug:

although I could be pedantic and talk about how designers aren't big on NY fashion week etc but it won't matter for the thread.
