Percentage numbers just mean that you're using the existence of cacs and Mexicans to determine our worth and significance.

Somehow 2.5 million black people just amount to nothing because the cacs and Mexicans are more important?

No just saying don't be tryna act like black ppl in NY scared and intimidated by black folks in Cali...black ppl in NY rarely if ever think about Cali like that anymore...yet Cali black folk still acting bitter thinking about us like there's still something going on when most ppl in NY moved on from all that a loooong time ago.

Outside of weirdos & old timers still imaginating (this the 90s) and playing the regional games nobody cares anymore...I only talk shyt if you gonna come at me playing regional beefs...it's only right but it's not that serious, at least to me it ain't.

I don't really give a shyt :yeshrug:.

When a city that is known to trend set in the black community and dictate what's school and what's not it's only natural they will start to feel superior to every other city

They started rap and got used to everyone other city trying to mimic their sound (rapping like nyc cats was the only way to make rap)

Even when it comes to drugs they were going up and down I95 and even traveling to the Midwest and taking over towns. Then in the actual city you had nikkas making millions

But it's one city that has always have their number and that is LA

I believe due to distance LA is a city under was never influenced by nyc like that

NYC started rap, LA puts their spin on it and it blows up and gets bigger than everything coming out of nyc. Ppl started copying LA instead of nyc. It got so bad that irrelevant Bronx rapper dissed Compton(a small town 3000 miles away) for no reason at all

Then you have movies, both nyc and la had legendary blacc movies coming out in the 90s but the majority of the country liked the LA movies more(checc the box office numbers)
One yea 70% of the coli agreed as well

https://www.thecoli.com/threads/which-city-had-the-better-urban-movies-la-or-nyc.776402/

Anyway let's continue

NYC tries to play up their hustler image and act like they had it biggest hustlers ever but in reality during that 80s n 90s era most of the plugs came from LA. How many nyc hustlers were supplying whole states? Multiple states? They may of went there up hustle but even if they did LA nikkas were supplying kingpin

You don't have to believe me even legendary DC hustlers said they were supplied by la nikkas even tho nyc is a few hours away

Keeping the topic on the streets la and California are the only place I consistently hand nyc rap artist Ls in the streets. From extortion to kidnapping to murder. No other city can say this and nyc knows it which is why they dicc ride California's gangsta so much even though they've been known to act like anywhere else outside of nyc is Disneyland

Then you got the most famous rapper of all gone being born in NYC yet choosing to claim California instead :pachaha:

Last but not least you got gangs

Never in history has LA EVER claimed any gang crew clique or any of the sort that started anywhere else but la. And the same could he said for nyc until they started literally reppin LA neighborhoods
It's gotten to the point where you see more crips and bloods in NYC than you would see in places that had them longer

All in all its evident that nyc nikkas definitely view la cats in a jealous light and you can see it all on the forum cuz historically LA is the first city to not give af about what was popular in NYC and turn around and make their own culture the most mimicked
To be fair , police and prosecutors don't care about all of that division they have no problem locking up folks in their own city. Hence why I encourage folks to travel see the world mind expansion:smugdraper:
No matter what, to be fair, hip hop created a lot of opportunities from DJ'S to movies acting to YouTubers to rapping to producing to behind the scenes careers and chance for folks to make money living their dream. :blessed:

Lot of lies and hurt feelings in this thread going around...

Point blank, I don't know that I'd call it an inferiority complex, that may be the wrong phrase and slightly insulting to NYers----->but its clear in reactions and conversations that NYers have a subconscious understanding that Los Angeles is the only US city that can really compete with them. And that is respectful and flattering...

And I'm not talking about some online spamming, I'm talking actual experience as a brother from The Coast who has had many NY friends and associates and been around many Borough cats...

There is no other city to compare to either LA or NY besides each other. I think LA is the greatest city on the planet but cats are entitled to they own opinions...

All the other misconceptions and outright lies floating in this thread are a dub. LA has as much international gravitas as NY and you can go down the line bar for bar from popping neighborhoods and districts to street culture to landmarks to ethnic demographics to religious life to economics and literally everything, LA is right there with NY and if it trails in anything it is more due to the fact LA is a young city in comparison...

I ain't got time to correct all the wrong shyt in this thread and yall know I got big love for NY, but stop with this fairytale shyt like LA is insignificant in comparison...

GOAT city, Boss Angeles, period. Literally no duplicates or nothing like it in the rest if the world...

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
This thread pretty much shows that being cocky is not a NY thing. It’s a black people thing. Deep down inside these other dudes are just mad they ain’t have the camera first to express themselves like New Yorker did.

I got way more inquiries and interest about LA from NYers, than I've ever gotten from Angelenos about NY. Now, I don't think NYers are necessarily obsessed with LA, it ain't like every NYer I knew was into LA, but for sure more people in NY were at least mildly interested in LA than the other way around...

When people say this, that just means you weren't where black people are in LA. I can easily go to parts of NY and say I didn't see black people, either...

There's 8.4 million people in NY compared to 4 million in LA. So if you took Manhattan and Queens only, you get to a total population about equal to LA. And those two combined only 15% black, so imagine if Brooklyn and Bronx didn't exist, or if people went to NY but only spent time in Man/Qns, the same cats saying there are no black people in LA would say the same thing about NY...

If you take LA County as a whole, which is like 10.1 million people, and compare it to NYC + Long Island, that's like 11.2 million, you get a broader and more even perspective. Cats from adjacent places to The Boroughs like Hempstead, Central Islip, Mount Vernon, Yonkers (I know they Westchester) basically function as extensions of The City the same way Harbor or Valley cities are basically extensions of the city of LA...

Honestly though, they mostly even. There isn't anything you can do or see or get in NY that you can't get a parallel of in LA. They mostly two sides of the same coin and it makes some people uncomfortable that LA has become a global powerhouse in less than 120 years and leapfrogged everybody except NY. They more sister cities with very different personalities than anything else, different personalities but similar experiences and offerings and amenities...

The biggest difference for me is not that NY has 20 % black people and LA 10 %, or LA county 5 % and metro NY 15 %.
It's that LA is segregated and not dense as NY, you can move within a square mile and see all types of people, clubs and shyt, take a cab 10 minutes and do the same shyt with a completely different crowd. Very different from other major cities in the world such as NY, Paris, London, Hong Kong etc.
I could only live like that if I was rich or living a suburban life.

That's a weird knock to have on LA because a)every other city is less dense than NY too; b)LA is more multicultural and international than every other city; and c)most other cities have relatively segregated nightlife, too...

You can still find some integrated nightlife in LA and while LA is spread out, LA has many different hotspots and when you're somewhere popping in LA those areas tend to have a denser proliferation of things to do than other places just based off of LA's size alone...
