NY should do what The West just did. Which artist from Kendricks generation can spearhead the movement and lead th show?

Th answer to this question would be A boogie….and that would be pushing it

A Boogie, for all his success, doesn’t seem to have the brand recognition as a Kendrick does

Kendrick, whether you agree or disagree, has the hits and celebrated albums that have people not only champion him as the best of his generation but among the best ever

That hasn’t taken place with an nyc artist I. The past 15 years

Y’all don’t get it
This was a once in a generation type event

-one of the biggest battles of all time
-The two biggest artists of this era
-Compton vs a Suburban Fraud
-Culture vs Cac

The hype machine took over social media for 2 months and it culminated in arguably the biggest concert in hip hop history.. We all tuned in to see Kendrick perform those huge diss records for the first time

Don’t nobody give a fukk about a random Nicki Minaj, Ace Boogie, Ice spice concert :what:

What Kendrick just did can't be replicated by ANY region right now.

That was historical. And one of the main reasons why is because it reached mad different generations. That wasn't just one. Fans of all ages were going crazy for that sh*t. And that's why he's mad impactful. That's what Hip Hop used to be and is supposed to be. He's been able to reach every kind of listener. No other region right now, has an artist with that kind of following.

but Nicki has as many people here who don't fukk with her. Nicki's the type to bring out 6ix9ine as a surprise guest only for half the crowd and half the rest of the features to angrily disapprove.

She could do it if she wanted to breh.

Nah,dont try to exclude Nas out of this now. Why havent Nas and Jay tried to put on young east coast nikkas. Jay had Rocafella before,I know he had Dame at the time too. But the longer he waits, its looking like he cant create another Rocafella,as much as Dame cant create another Hov.

Nas put on Dave East

Ya nikkas know that Nicki Minaj is culturally bigger than Kendrick Lamar right? :mjlol:

Same way Beyonce is bigger than Jay-z.

NY can’t pull off a show like that with “modern” artists, only other city right now could be ATL. It would have to be 90s/00s rappers for NY

The variety of music and levels of stardom and all have their own following

From RJ to YG to Steve Lacy to Roddy to Dom to Kalan to Ohgeesy to Tyler
Shyt is crazy
