NY should do what The West just did. Which artist from Kendricks generation can spearhead the movement and lead th show?

Buddy, I live in the city too. I don't need a breakdown like some out of towner. Buffalo represents NY. It's not like Buffalo cant be referred to as NY. To say it's not NY would be wrong. If anything we specifically say "Upstate NY."
Buffalo is so far away that we don't lump them into anything we do. Buffalo might as well be Toronto to us.

I got what you meant, I just went to the bottom line. We created Hip Hop.
Any other region who does anything Hip Hop related is doing what we started.
Naw hip hop is black music. Ice Spice the king of NY lol

And basically y’all ain’t had an original idea in 50 years by your logic

Rakim, EPMD, Public Enemy, the Lox, Brand Nubian, Biz Markie, RA the Rugged Man, Redman, Keith Murray, and a lot of NEW YORK legendary rappers aren't from NYC.

New York rap has always been about New York State, not New York City, if you really break it down. Similarly, LA rap is about Los Angeles County with its many cities rather than Los Angeles City.

"Western NY" is more appropriate.

this is a HUGE reach

Redman has always repped Newark New Jersey.

The rest of the nikkas you named span from various parts of Long Island, Queens, New Rochelle and Yonkers

Leave out Redman then. Replace him with DMX.

Long Island, New Rochelle and Yonkers ain't in NYC. That was my point.:snoop:

Damn,i forgot about Tru Life and Uncle murda. No wonder Jay threw in the towel:scust:

The last potential great I remember from New York was Stack Bundles. Created some buzz off that M.O.B tape. That was about 14 years ago:francis:ust

Hopefully this Kendrick Drake fued inspires some inspiration that creates a snowball effect. It should even inspire Nas and Jay at this point.

We gon act like Max B didn't exist?
Stack Bundles fame grew partly from Lupe Fiasco, who he was affiliated with before Jim Jones, but mostly from Max B and French Montana fanbases who kept his name alive after his death. Not to mention Chinx, who Stack was in Riot Squad with.

If the latter didn't exist and it was just Jim to go off of, then hardly anybody would be talking about Stack Bundles today. Even Lupe has has kept his name alive more than anybody in ByrdGang. Stack was never a big name even regionally.

As for inspiration to emulate what LA doing, it would be good but I wouldn't bet on it.

Stack Bundles fame had literally nothing to do with Lupe. What are u talking about? He was with Desert Storm and DJ Clue. So he was affiliated with Fab, Joe Budden, Ransom, Hitchcock, Paul Cain etc etc.

Not originally but Lupe has kept his name alive more than Jim did.

The Lupe Fiasco connection is something Stack would have returned to when Lupe became a superstar in the late-2000s and early-2010s.

Bro like I said. His connection with Lupe didn't help really anything. Most people didn't even know they had a connection like that. Stack's claim to fame was Desert Storm. Son was all over mixtapes, Smack DVDs etc etc before linking with Jim. Also had his beef with Ali Vegas as well.

I'm not disagreeing with that, bro. We're talking about two different things. You're talking about when he was alive. I'm talking about AFTER he died.

Stack was not that big nor considered exceptional when he was alive. You named several rappers like Fabolous, Budden and Ransom. Throw Papoose and Uncle Murda in there too. Stack was one prospect among many. After Max and French became big, Stack became a legend.

What I'm saying is those were the people he was affiliated with. Desert Storm consisted of those rappers. And that's what got him hot on the streets before Jim picked him up. After Jim picked him up he was outta here. Son buzz was crazy before he passed and that's def due to Jim and Max. I'm just speaking on prior. Lupe ain't really have much to do with his buzz prior at all. Most people didn't even know they had a connection.

It's probably better that they don't. New York woulda had a bunch of Dominicans and Ricans up there on Juneteenth screaming black and brown pride stop trying to divide. Hate to see it :scust:
