NY should do what The West just did. Which artist from Kendricks generation can spearhead the movement and lead th show?

Wasn't there some posters here who been slobbing on A-Boogie's knob? Now you telling me he flopped?

Groups like the Nation of Islam and even the Shia mosque in Watts, where the 1992 truce was signed, helped build bridges between gangs in California in the early-90s and onward.

In New York, the NOI and Five-Percenters been losing influence since the mid-90s. They were the ones who championed unity and purpose. The Zulu Nation had lost most of its influence over time but took a really big hit after Bambaataa's pedo allegations went mainstream in the mid-2010s.

NY radio has never championed underground NY rappers, especially not those who have serious momentum. An independently-owned radio station with a diverse playlist would make a huge splash.
To the last point, this is the biggest thing. In the mid 00s when NY started losing ground, all the taste makers on the radio had two options: start fostering the underground scene or just dikkride and try to play catchup with the south. They chose the latter, and that's why the identity has eroded to such a degree

NYC and the east coast however hasn't fostered a culture of passing down the torch.

NYC hip hop is far more individualistic.

NYC rappers always have someone either in their crew or a rapper they at the most attempt to put on....that rapper that gets put on blowing up or not blowing up is a matter of fate but don't act like NYC rappers don't attempt to put they mans out there like that at some point. If they mans don't blow up, that's not on the rapper who tried to put them on

Notice that all the examples you gave stopped in the 90’s. Where’s the same thing towards Kendrick’s generation? The guys you listed such as Ja Rule, AZ;etc. didn’t seem to carry the torch to the new generation. Most of them seem to be about themselves. Did Ja Rule mentor new rappers? Hov? The most current rapper on this list is probably French Montana.

No one in NYC continuously passes the torch the way Dre does. Dre is the King maker. No one in NY has that type of flex.

Don't know why yall keep forgetting about French Montana. French is bigger then Joey (pause) and has more popular hits over Asap
Because French Montana sucks and apparently because he’s a nice guy nobody wants to say out aloud but French Montana ain’t inspiring not one single goddamn person to lay down arms and unite with someone they have beef with for the greater good. French doesn’t stand for or represent that. He’s not an inspiring or aspiring figure to move people in that way. It would be like seeing Bob Marley unite Jamaica to the point where he got two warring political factions to embrace in peace and then expecting Ray Parker Jr to do the same.
