Someone has to sacrifice to win. Look at Miami. Bosh and wade stats are lower than before but they win. Kobe should be averaging 25 ppg. If he gets his team involved they will win more games. It's like they know he ain't gonna pass the ball so they just stand there. I looked at the box score one day. Kobe had 38 points and 10 turnovers! Those turnovers are 20 points they could have got that turns into 20 points for the other team. That's a huge difference. If Dwight gets the ball they have to double team him which leads to open looks for others.

1. Dwight being doubles is irrelevant, he get stripped about 40% of his possessions and is not a good passer
2. why should the person that has to sacrifice be the best scorer on the team, that makes no sense
3. last night, the Lakers didnt give up their biggest leads until Kobe was on the bench
4. the 08-10 Lakers squads never just stood there, despite Kobe shooting

Am I the only one seeing him look foolish in the post? Dude gets stripped a lot of the time and is only shooting like 50% free throws. Trust me, I am not a big Kobe fan and have always criticized him for his volume shooting, but I don't see how people can put the blame on Kobe for how badly the team is playing

he's having one of his best seasons ever but its his fault were losing...its his fault Dwight cant consistently secure the ball without getting stripped, its his fault Dwight only making 50% of his ft's and we're the 2nd worst ft shooting team in the league despite having Nash, Meek, and Kobe, its his fault Pau is having one of his worst seasons offensively and defensively, its his fault Steve missed a month and a half, its his fault the bench is ass, its his fault MWP takes whatever the fukk shot he wants:wtb:

as far as Im concerned Kobe has been one of the few consistent bright spots this season

Naw Walt was right...

If you ever played with a shoot first gunner it can become demoralizing and affects other aspects of the game (rebounding and defense)..

And that's IF you like the dude as a person and IF you're winning..

And offense is a problem if the ball is sticking and there is no movement...You can't just look at the final score and determine that offense isn't an issue...

It can be demoralizing, but my point is that even when Kobe was passing the D was still getting ate up. The defense is trash when Kobe is shooting, when he's passing, when he's turning it over. The blame isn't solely on Kobe is all that I'm pointing out. Some posters are as bad as the media at grabbing the lowest hanging fruit instead of looking at what the problem with the team really is.

These fakkits always look at the opposing team when they're open. Nobody attempts to put a hand up or run at them..shyt is disgusting. I see ron bustin his ass and kept thinking Lakers going to turn it up now:dead: Not a single fukk is given on D

A league source told the Daily News that the Lakers stars got into a heated exchange following a New Year’s Day loss to the 76ers, and Bryant went for a low blow – referencing and agreeing with Shaquille O’Neal’s criticisms of Howard being soft.

yeah, cuz that sounds like something kobe would do. :childplease:

would be funny to see kobe show up with black eyes and shyt though.

in reality, there are a bunch of people on this board that are aggravated by Kobe's individual success at 34, they want him to fall off and will do anything to make his success look bad

in reality thats what going on here, now they can deny it, but its obvious...whenever you blame probably one of the few bright spots on a team for the teams's failure, despite MANY other glaring issues...its obvious

Oh, definitely not. Kobe is playing at a mind-boggling level, especially given his age and all the wear and tear on his body. It's hard not to be in awe of his talents whenever I watch him. And there's no doubt Pau has regressed (possibly because he is more injured than the public knows, possibly because he's a bytch), Artest just isn't that good anymore, and Dwight is coming off back surgery.

All that being said, there are some obvious issues the Lakers can address immediately:

I. Nash needs to handle the ball much more than Kobe, at least for the first 10 seconds of the clock. See if he can get the big men going

II. Nash needs to shoot at least 3 or 4 more shots a game.

III. Dwight needs to shoot at least 3 or 4 more shots a game.

IV. Artest needs to touch the ball a lot less, he's shooting too much.

V. Kobe needs to see if Nash can get him easier shots in the flow of the offense instead of going into iso mode so often.

As far as defense goes, this just isn't going to be good defensive team. If Dwight was 100%, maybe they'd have a chance on d.

But Kobe's defense is trash too...

And the lowest hanging fruit is D. Howard.. Ironically he's the only one defending...So if you honestly feel that defense is the weaknesss, maybe the team should start following the 2 time DPOTY instead of the guy with scoring titles...

They won't ever be a great or good defensive team but they could be at least average with more effort (Kobe definitely included).

The big thing I agree with is I'd love for Nash to be a lot more aggressive. Try to get to the hole or at least make himself a threat to score and having Kobe play off the ball will definitely help. For me though it all comes down to defense. The Lakers have far too many stretches where they just give up wide open shots and no team will win that way.
