i was watching the lakers/clippers game on tuesday and saw that they gave a pretty good amount of promotion at times to aew during the game and they played that commercial about aew "changing the world" .. and i thought to myself damn imagine if a casual viewer happens to tune in to aew for their next show because of these commercials hyping aew up and someone like the transvestite or markko stunt happens to be on at the time, they would either shake their head in disgust and promptly change the channel or probably laugh their asses off and then change the channel..

i mean even if someone like the bucks were on and someone who is not accustomed to watching wrestling sees these 5'5" 140 pound guys doing a million flips and ridiculous dives onto their opponents they would just think its an embarrassment and wonder who the hell watches this shyt..

its like on one hand all the promo theyre getting from tnt is good for them but in a way its bad because when a casual viewer ends up tuning in they are gonna see some really unintentional comedic shyt.

Chart says top 5 show and that the ratings are above average in those demos. But markkks are gonna argue that it's bad in here. :unimpressed:

Knew there would be a hit cause of the competition. I do feel like AEW could have done more though which could have helped their numbers.

To me their best show was the 2nd, it had a really good balance of promos and in ring.

I think they missed a trick with the first show, think it could have been a lot better, they fixed a lot of those mistakes in the 2nd but a lot of people had tuned out.

It's not really about just now though but the long term. I'd like to see them make some moves to gain more attention though, bring in a few big names that fit and do stuff to generate a buzz but well. Interesting characters and stories will help them.

They do need to find the balance between the hardcore and casual audience to grow. Can't always please the hardcore, should never be neglected but got to do things to expand too.
