Kinda surprised they almost hit a million given the show was taped and wasn't nearly as stacked as last week.

:dwillhuh:

They announced Sting talking, Shaq appearing, whatever Jericho's thing was going to be, MJeff vs Orange Cassidy (2 guys that always do numbers for them), & the follow up for Omega & Callis. This was a stacked show without any matches of note beyond MJeff vs Orange coming off a PPV level show last week that had buzz because of Sting.

Their probably shocked they didn't easily clear a million coming off last week.

They should just move NXT to Tuesdays or Thursdays, both shows do better. That one week when it was moved. Both shows got better ratings

NXT is there for no other reason than to get as many eyes away from AEW as possible. Been that way since the start.

AEW stacked the show. Them getting a high number is expected. NXT post-takeover shows usually do bad because they are typically filler.

People still parrot the same bs narrative.

NXT is on Wednesdays because they were always on Wednesdays. WWE ratings and attendence went way down when they had wrestling on at least 4 days in a row.

AEW has a built in excuse if their shows under deliver ratings wise. NXT being on Wednesdays actually helps them. They always play to the fukk WWE narrative.

Moving NXT to Tuesday just repeats the same problem of audience burnout.

WWE doesn't give a fukk what rating NXT does. As long as it subtracts something from AEW :dead:

Basically. But to say they 100% don’t care at all is false, or else, they wouldn’t have had multiple main roster people pop up down there. Let’s not act like they didn’t have Charlotte showing up to feud with Bianca and Rhea, only leading to the ratings NOT going up :russ::russ:

Someone on another forum said this and I agree with them.

AEW not even really competing with NXT for the demo or viewers anymore, their competition is The Challenge, Housewives, NBA, and cable news when something big happens.

Also lol at people bringing up Shaq, I'll give you Sting but Shaq was announced in a random tweet less than a the day before Dynamite.

It's pretty clear that NXT and AEW have difference audiences and demographics outside of super big and heavily promoted matches which will draw from all groups. They aren't really competing for the same group of fans so the war isn't really a a war at all.

It's really fukkin' lame with TK actually posting ratings and demo breakdowns, as is Jericho and his demo god shyt. But it's extra lame when it's fans who probably didn't even watch either show to begin with.

strongly disagree.

AEW and NXT share more of the same fans than raw & nitro did back in the day.

NXT's champion is from the bullet club for pete's sake.

The demo breakdowns say otherwise. The nxt audience is much older than the aew audience. They aren't appealing to the same audience except when there is something heavily hyped that will usually draw from each others audience.

Okay but if we are going to discuss this than we have to acknowledge that the trends are good for AEW and bad for NXT.

I'm fair about everything I say in this thread. When NXT legit wins the night whether it's in total viewers or what I acknowledge that, if AEW wins I acknowledge that, I like to poke fun at both of them at times etc.

So when I say that the trends are bad for NXT.... they are bad. You can win 50+ all you want, it's not what advertisers care about.

18-49 is most important especially now because there's so many other options of entertainment other than television.

900,000 viewers might seem like "hey, it should be even more.." and maybe it should be but the fact that most of the viewers fall within that younger demo is what is impressive and that's what TNT is looking at.

Trust me, if AEW continues to win Wednesday nights in cable or finish top 3.. TNT will have to pay them more money and that's nothing but positive for AEW.

Some people in this thread don't understand what they are seeing in these charts. AEW has to keep it up though and NXT really needs to improve.

AEW has had now two shows of ratings being notably up. What if they make it 3 weeks in a row? NXT ratings are down for the show after war games because the audience didn’t give a flying fukk who won or lost those matches. There were no stakes, nothing was on the line, the teams were thrown together, the promotion was built around Pat McAfee for a month who now vanished without a trace. AEW has stakes to their matches and has VERY selectively utilized rematches. Also NXT Super Tuesday did 848k & 838k, how many cable shows does markedly better when they go on another night? It’s common sense. I think you have it in your mind that AEW fans want NXT to move nights to boost AEW numbers, when actually, NXT moving to another night would save NXT from the inevitable.
