like dude said, if they would have taken the console deal it would have required them to take focus away from other areas. its really quite simple, businesses usually go with what will make them the most money and undercutting themselves for the console deal obviously didn't sound like good business for Nvidia.
im personally glad consoles are going with AMD because, 1. the consoles can go for a cheaper price and 2. consoles wont outpower PC's anyway so they dont need to have the absolute best graphics, they just need the best all round service, which is what the Japanese devs were getting at with their comments about PS4.
It's a low margin investment for AMD. Nvidia probably thought it was wise to have them spend their limited resources in the console market. While they do that Nvidia will pick up the slack in more lucrative opportunities.

Nvidia aint struggling breh, they dont need consoles like that. Especially enough to undercut their worth. Yeah its money, but its grind money, which obviously they dont feel is worth it.
Its like if you sell pizza at $5 and someone offers to buy 20 at $3, you dont have to take the offer just cause its there. for the same amount of work you getting $60 for what you would normally get $100. Yes its guaranteed money but you still gotta do the work and at the end of the day you might not not feel like it was worth it. Nvidia obviously didnt think the price was right.

I don't think NVIDIA is in trouble in any shape or form, but I just see the fact that sony and microsoft are coming out with consoles that will remain static for about 6-7 years and can keep eating off of that. See a possible loss now, but quickly recoup as the generation wears on.

I'm over the bulldozer nonsense, but IMO ATI/AMD came out on top this generation of video cards. We will see what the future holds because in the CPU department they are
