Yea i'm the same way. This is actually the first time i'm buying a upgraded video card. My original pc came with a 970 and it had a 4 year warranty. The fans stopped working on them like 3 months before my warranty ended and i lucked out cause they just gave me a 1060 because they already stopped manufacturing the 900 series. So i basically got a free upgrade.

So when i finally did start to build my new pc earlier this year i upgraded everything besides my video card cause i knew the 300 series was this year. Glad i waited. Gonna be a true upgrade experience visually for me. I remember when i first got my gaming pc like 6 years ago and i was finally able to play far cry 3. :wow:

I've decided I'll go with the 3080 :ohlawd: The jump from a GTX 1070 to a RTX 3080 is going to be INSANE. :wow: I only bought a 5700 XT to hold me over until this announcement.

I won't upgrade until like 4 years later. I bought the 1070 around April of 2017.

Comes out in a few weeks and I already got the funds for it ready to go, I just need to make sure I'm at the store early to cop :ohlawd: I hope Microcenter doesn't have any bullshyt going on.

EVGA put up some pics of their cards:

EVGA - Articles - EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series

they look like place holders images though, since they're the same for all the cards. I kind of doubt all those cards are two slots

edit: nope, EVGA forum moderator says they're all two slots:

https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3073427

I/O bracket for all models is a 2-slot bracket. This will allow for a slightly wider card to fit in cases that some people had difficulty with on the 20-Series 2.75 slot cards.

Thickness of the 3090/3080 XC3 models with backplate (XC3 Ultra/XC3) is 1.78in. - 45.1mm.
Thickness of the 3090/3080 XC3 models without backplate (XC3 Black) is 1.61in. - 40.9mm.

Thickness of the 3090/3080 FTW3 models with backplate (i.e. all of them) is 2.19in. - 55.55mm.
Thickness of the 3090/3080 FTW3 models without backplate (manually remove) is 2.02in. - 51.35mm.

And yall wonder why we dont get Nvidia GPUs in mainstream consoles...its because AMD cant compete, so Nvidia prices into the stratosphere. :wow:

:leostare:

You don't get NVIDIA GPUs in consoles because they shark em on prices

See the original Xbox and the PS3.
