If they make the WCF and lose to let’s say the warriors or lakers is that considered “flaming out”.
I don't think so IMO. Disappointing for sure but not a flame out. I'm just saying that OKC has like 10+ first rounders coming over the next several years, they aren't going to use all of them on players to draft. Denver's taken several steps back, if the Joker asks out it definitely makes sense for them to at least put an offer out. They have the assets where if the Nuggets had to at least trade the Joker they can live with the return somewhat

nikka lacks awareness

He’s the real reason why the Nuggets are where they’re at today.
Nah...this is on the owners. They wanted all this shyt...salary cap, max salary, luxury tax, supermaxes, aprons. All put in place for their financial benefit. Doesnt matter who is in office, owners keep getting their way.

No excuses for billionaires not being willing to do whatever to keep a championship team going. Joker should be in that office like Cube in Straight Outta Compton. This is why you can never knock players for using whatever power they have. These owners dont give a fukk about winning. They will let you bust your ass and fill the arena and take all the heat for the shytty team they put around you and then discard you when you are no longer valuable. Nah all the smoke belongs squarely on the owners.

Jokic got paid. Gordon got paid. Porter got paid. Murray got paid. The architect of the team left for a bigger payday and they won anyway.

Bruce Brown leaving had nothing to do with want. They literally couldn't offer him as much as other teams. Kroenke's a cheap ass with Denver compared to the Rams, sure, but the way the NBA cap structure is set up, going the extra mile and losing fukks you beyond belief if you don't get it done and we're seeing that take place.

Keep in mind, the aprons were put in place because Golden State said "I don't give a fukk, we're gonna spend."

By who?

Other owners that dont want to. All these measures that precededed aprons were implemented by the same folks for the same reason. No excuses for billionaires being unwilling to put their money where their mouth is and compete. When playere cash out and :manny: we break out the pitchforks but owners do it and we break out the capes. Nope its foot to neck on these owners.

Nah Teams realized just because you won a title doesn’t automatically make you a great HC :mjlol:

In previous generations that one title woulda basically guaranteed you a job for life barring a complete disaster :manny:

It happens in other sports too. Look at the NFL with Doug Pederson, he’s ass but the eagles won the chip. They realized oh shyt he’s garbage and fired his ass after 2020 and never regretted it.

Thats cool and there is nothing wrong with it. But what did Nurse, Vogel, or Malone do that warranted such swift firings? Bud is different as that ring saved his job.

This happens a lot in soccer. The average life expectancy of a coach is roughly 18 months. A successful coach is maybe someone who does 3-5 years before moving on. And then you have the over achievers who are in the job 6+ years. Long and short the general theory is you have 3-4 years with a group of players. You either overhaul the majority of the squad/roster (more costly) or you change the coach which is the cheap option.

That ring saved Malone's job as well as he was literally going to get fired that offseason if they didn't win the chip.

Bud got saved by KD's foot being on the line and Malone got saved from a team that ran out of gas after shooting once in a lifetime percentages during their playoff run.

He wasn’t getting fired. This year is gonna be the first year in his 10 seasons in Denver that he didn’t beat his Vegas win total. He never underachieved to the point that he was in danger. Even now, it wasn’t his actual coaching ability that got him fired.
