how can you increase viewership on a wrestling show by having a guy TALK more?

And don't talk to me about Rock, Stone Cold, etc., b/c Enzo is NOT that in the ring.

Because fake fighting doesnt draw. You realize they do matches every week on raw and smack with multiple commercial breaks. This current era features more wrestling on television than any other era. This era also = lowest ratings.

Them trying to do things like this is only good for the business. People want charismatic people to get behind. The wrestling nerds who want Meltzer classics will always watch no matter what because even though all they do is eat doritos they can make pretend to critique the fake fights ala Dave their hero. But they need the rest of the world to watch and angles/storylines/charismatic people who can talk are those things.

I mean that's the bottom line because stone cold said so
If you smell what the rock is cooking
Wooooooooooooooo
Best there was best there ever will be

People love catch phrases and enzo despite not being anywhere near those other guys in the ring he has that and people(kids) love enzo. I was at No mercy and you better believe all of the little kids had the enzo hair the couple haters or certified G shirt even the socks breh. Is what it is but boy is over as hell :yeshrug:check this why are we even making this thread or talking about him just think about that. That's how you increase viewership

All this could've been avoided if they let Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and others dobtheir thing instead of having them stuck in 2 month long angles that nobody cared about.

I mean, are they still fighting over Alicia Foxx?

Unfortunately for WWE, the fake fighting is the only thing WWE has that other TV shows don't. Between weekly soap operas like Empire and reality shows, people can get their fukkery fix from a multitude of avenues so I don't know if they'll ever go back to having less matches.

On the other hand, there's not too many live-action TV shows with action sequences and stunts. You either have to pay for a movie or an MMA/Boxing PPV to see action and stunts.

Thats silly. As if in 1998 there werent any other good TV shows? :what:

WWE doesnt need to be on the Sopranos level to compete. It just needs non stop fukkery so the ADD humans of 2017 wont change the channel. These 20 minute fake fights are the worst part of Raw and Smackdown. Nobody cares about wrestling matches, save that shyt for the blowoff of the feud. I guess you like the Hardys vs Shaemsaro every week? :manny:

Go watch the attitude era. I just saw an ep with my boy and through and through it was great. When the Rock fought Undertaker on Raw in 1997, it started with the Rock cutting a promo on Austin for throwing his belt in the river (a reason to care!), a quick little match... Kane interferes. It furthers Rocks feud with Austin and Takers feud with Kane. Nowadays they dont further shyt, let alone 2 angles with one match. Now with a match all you get is the match. Same episode in multiple segments the Outlawz were looking for Mankind in the boiler room and other areas backstage. Mick was Dude love the week before and cut a promo on why he is mankind now. They eventually find him and lock him in the walk in freezer. :mjlol:

Same episode Austin has a segment with Santa, and you already know what happens. Same episode was DX feuding with Slaughter leading to Shawn vs Hunter in a title match, they teased DX splitting. Owen attacked Hunter. Furthered that feud. Shawn cut a promo on Taker, furthered that feud... Shawn and Hunter Swerve Slaughter. Look At all the shyt that happened in ONE EPISODE. No need to talk about somersault leg drop from fat losers.

Same episode Marc Mero brings out Sable ina reindeer outfit, nobody pays attention to the match because Sable removed the deer head. The fans of today would of been pissed that Marc Meros work rate was being disrespected :skip:
The fans of today woulda been pissed that Sable took off the reindeer outfit to show off that shes hot. They would demand her to do a ladder match with Sasha Banks and give it 4 stars:skip:

The fact that modern fans prefer this long ass match shyt and buy into the hype of quality matches is :mindblown:

Id rather see Sami Zayn hit KO with a taxi cab than wrestle a 20 minute Meltzer classic. Stop being marks for critiquing wrestler 'work rates' brehs. And now these work rate nerds are in the WWE and selling Vince on this nonsense... Look at your ratings brehs :mindblown:

EDIT- go watch that raw 12/22/97. One of the usos makes a cameo during the Stone Cold segment with Santa too. :krs:
