That's good advice, you gotta know your role to stick in the league. There's guys out there on the FA market like Kelly Oubre and Christian Wood who can give you 15-20 a night but they can't settle into a role and accept taking less shots

Who says that they wouldn't? It's a lot of contenders that could use his services IF he'd be willing to take the minimum.

Portland could probably get Simmons for scraps right now...In fact, Brooklyn would probably be willing to give up a pick or two just to get rid of Ben.....Maybe Portland should keep Dame and make a trade for Simmons without giving up their core.

You didn’t even mention Shaeden sharpe

That’s the problem Portland is signaling they dont trust Dame even with help. If they did, Shaeden sharpe is a grade A asset and Simons is a B level asset. Trading both would equip them with a contender but…they don’t trust Dame is good enough.

And I wouldn’t either, bc he’s not. Scoot x Shaeden is the future. I’d build on that and let Denver/LA/GS/Milwaukee have the next 3,4 years until your guys are ready. Dame talk alot but he’a not that guy. He is not Jokic, Bron, Giannis, Steph to lead a team to a chip
