there's is overlap in how they are "glue guys" for the teams they were on. you are correct that they are not a 1:1 comparison. i fumbled :hubie:

and its more so how they guarded multiple positions. regardless i feel like marion doesnt get his props like that

MARION WAS EASILY
THE BETTER PLAYER
YET DRAYMOND WILL BE THE HOF
BECAUSE OF TEAM SUCCESS.

The problem that Harden faces is that even if he forces his way out of Philly and goes elsewhere, history says that he’s going to show up short in the playoffs and last years run isn’t going to change that.

He would still get the chance to show that he can still be an offensive juggernaut if he went to the Clippers based on Kawhi/PG health, but he’ll still be in the same situation he’s in now in looking for the bag once he flames out again when it matters most. It’s why Houston would have been the perfect situation for him as he would have gotten his money and his playoff performance conversation would have been over.

All of this could have been avoided had he just did what his peers after him have done in taking the money and then forcing their way out after.

It’s one thing to come up short but it’s another to almost always crash and burn and embarrass yourself.

‘19 and ‘20 were the last times he failed with dignity. Since then, it’s always been something: fat, injured, inefficient, or this recent thing where he’s inexcusably passive hiding behind assists.

Whatever handshake agreement he had with Morey, you can’t have those game 6 and 7 stinkers vs BOS and think shyt is still sweet. He wants to play for a contending team and get paid a big bag, but he’s realizing no one will give him a lifetime achievement award bag for what he did last decade.

It's not inexcusable, it's what he is at this point. That's what happens when you're mid 30s and still take care of yourself like you're early 20s. I don't think he likes ball like somebody like KD, he wants the money that comes from playing ball or else he'd do all he could to age and play at a high level

And Morey knew all that when Harden got fat and quit on the Rockets, stayed fat and quit on the Nets, and when he traded for him in Philly

Honestly when you add everything up with Harden/Philly, Harden's probably owed more than the other way around. Saved them from Simmons then took less the next season to help the team out. Two games when he's past his prime isn't enough to make up that difference.

Harden's a weirdo but players talk and I wouldn't be surprised if players put Morey/Philly in that bucket of undesirables Boston was in with Ainge. Then again Morey's an Embiid request away from getting the door himself more than likely so yeah

Y'all act like the dude did not lead the league in assists.

Dude still has a 123 offensive rating he's not washed by any means.

He is washed as an offensive juggernaut, which is what he still wants to be and be paid like one. He just can't handle that workload and be that guy anymore because he flamed out once again in the playoffs and couldn't keep the same level of offensive consistency.

The dude only had 14.5 attempts per game last season, the only person that averaged more points with similar attempts were Jimmy Butler, who averaged 23 points on 13.9 attempts and Jokic who averaged 24 points on 14.9 attempts.
Nothing about his numbers say he is washed.

We saw in the playoffs that he was washed offensively during that Boston series. He had those two good guys and flamed out the rest.

Harden in the regular season is irrelevant as what matters is the playoffs and we know his track record when it matters most.

That's a media narrative dude is still a max level player. He's not a number one option on a championship team but he's a max well player.

It's not a media narrative when we have a track record of it happening. To your second point, tell that to him because he still thinks that he is one.
