fumble what lmao :laff:

pj is one of the worst finishers in the paint at his position and one of the worst rebounders with his minutes/usage in the league

teams gotta stop being afraid of 'losing' mid ass players when they ain't even a playoff team or put together two solid seasons individually - or even being capable of manufacturing stats in a down year. signing them isn't a discount. its an overpay. especially in the context that NO ONE offered them shyt worth tying up their cap over even in a weak ass FA class.

and i don't think people understand what UFA means when you still retain bird rights. if they want their biggest contract possible, it *has* to come from charlotte facilitating it either directly or through a s&t. so if they want to retry their contract year in 2024? by all means. and good luck to them.

This is fan delusion. This is how GM’s talk staying on code. My man, your team is ASS. You are not the A side. Your notion of not paying mid players is outdated. Bc you still assume ‘yea we gon free up cap space and sign a star :obama:’.

Ngga, Monster Mash is not walkin thru that door there are no difference makers in free agency. Y’all have gone 15 years drafting between 7-10 the draft dead zone. And now with lamelo you’re once again assured to be just good enough to not bottom out. You NEED to stockpile talent .

Bc A) wtf else you gon do with money?, re-sign Gordon Hayward? b) use them as trade chips

Aaron Gordon is the perfect example: miscast as a #2/ #1 in Orlando he was trash . But let him have a niche role for another team he’s an integral piece. Igoudala is another example

So yea your notion that PJ and miles are trash and should be let go is nonsense. Bridges was the leading scorer on one of the best Charlotte teams in 25 years.

wait - do you know what a QO is?

if you do, then you wouldn't be rambling on about all this other shyt like they've been cut :dead: if NOBODY offered them the money they were looking for as RFAs, then why should the hornets jump at the chance to pay them what literally NOBODY is willing to offer them? especially when charlotte can offer them more than anyone else next year if they do raise their value accordingly? we still have their bird rights and they can't even be traded normally due to the QO limitations.

sooooo pay them and we tie up the cap long term for what exactly? to maintain the core for our streak of play-in games? if the team has to meet the salary floor, we just sign some vet for a JJ Reddikk deal or take on salary along with a draft pick for the trouble.

and leading scorer on one of the best teams.... bruh lamelo/rozier/miles were separated by less than a whole point. who are you trying to fool with that lol. oubre averaging more per game this year with a broken hand - you don't see teams lined up for him either do you? usually 'delusional fan' means gassing up players, you out here writing fan fiction though. you ain't even checking the stats on these dudes.

There's a reason why Nick Richards got paid *during the season* and PJ looking stupid as fukk after a team chose to trade for Grant Williams over giving him more than MLE.

Again, you’re running with the idea that these guys are trash. I’m running with the idea they are good, and the deal you could have signed them to now will be long gone by next summer. So you pay them now for the same reason all teams do, to lock them up before the price tag goes up.

Let’s walk thru the 2 main scenarios and the outcomes for both:

1- The hornets are good this year and Miles and PJ are a reason

A- Price of thr brick goes up. Hornets pay both at a number that’s more than the current market. Cap is now REALLY ‘tied up long term’ for a still non-contender team

B- Hornets let them go. Finally being good then blowing it up would be demoralizing. But they “free cap space”…but Hornets will likely be bad again

2- The hornets are bad again and Miles and PJ are mid.

A- You let both walk. 42monks is right, da cap space open ...but the hornets are bad again,

B- Hornets pay both at ‘meh’ deals. 42monks is right. there was no reason to ever pay them what they wanted, the hornets keep them AND have cap space …..but the hornets are bad again.

Each outcome is an L. You tell me which you rooting for!?! :pachaha: You honestly can’t tell I’ll be re-upping this in a year with the Stephen A ‘told you so’ smilie,? :wtf:

The one win-win scenarios is they’re good/promising independent of both those guys, but I don’t see it. But hey man, good luck
