That is ridiculously false. If anything, it's more of an indictment on how the younger generation wants to feel like everything that was great happened in their lifetime, and that goes beyond sports. It happens in society. You're just another example.
Older people will be more attached to shyt they saw, which is no different than you wanting to be more attached to the shyt you see now. For example, IMO, the 1998 Yankees are the greatest baseball team ever. More people will say it's Murderers' Row, but that's just a difference of opinion. I've seen more acrobatic catches in random NFL games than shyt like the Immaculate Reception. All those "greatest (insert category here) ever" lists are just opinions. Once you come to terms with that, you tend to not give a shyt.
disagree. Nobody considers George Mikan the best basketball player, nobody considers some white guy in a leather helmet the best football player. Yet we consider Babe Ruth, a guy who only faced white players, the goat.
Taking a new guy over an old guy just because is like taking Kobe over Jordan. Thats not what Im talking about.
Secondly people have to face, when it comes to athletes, this isnt music or soemthing where its all opinions, the athletes of the present will ALWAYS be better than in the past, we have medical advancements these dudes didnt have.
I mean if we do an all time team in football or basketball, 90 percent or more of the players will be from the 60s and up. We do a baseball all time list and half the team only faced whites. Rogers Hornsby, Honus Wagner etc will make the list, 5 foot white guys who only faced other 5 foot white guys
