Yep... I remember reading a Beanie Sigel interview like a year or 2 ago & he said on camera you would've thought they were best friends but he said Jay never called him & unless they needed to be at the studio or Def Jam together they weren't around eachother. He said State Property wanted to treat Jay like family since he pulled them from the streets and gave them a deal but that Jay treated them like a business expense instead & said dude is a fake nikka...

Young Chris is still signed to Roc Nation... he's doing his thing but don't bring up Jay around him... :mjpls:

Even Dame Dash thought it was all love, Jay was only about them dollars.

I was never really a fan, but I'm pretty amazed how this dude keeps winning with only 10% the talent of Pac, B.I.G. and Nas. His discography is pretty forgettable, except for 2 or 3 albums, but with 99% of the rappers wanting to be like him put Jay in legendary status. :wow:

Who cares if he like him "like that"

This is a business and Jay-Z is treating it as such. I don't seem him hanging tough with any ROC Nation artists

I'm sure he learned from his Roc A fella days that being all buddy buddy with your artist probably isn't the best move.

Also, when J. Cole has success (like he already has) they can't say its because Jay-Z was propping him up.

Is it more important for an artist to be independent or successful?

If I was Jay I would do everything in my power to help my artists succeed. Their failures are my failures.

I think Jay & Dame were probably close... I do think Dame bringing Cam into Roc-A-Fella was dirty as hell knowing they had beef so that definitely hurt whatever friendship or partnership they had...

What beef did Jay and Cam have prior to Roc-A-Fella?

Jay did not feel like splitting his money 3 ways, that's why he left when Roc when Dame just signed Budden, Nore, M.O.P. and Ol' Dirty b*stard.

His first interview after the break up he said, hotels don't have two presidential suites.

It was about money, not bruised ego or hurt feelings. He sold crack to his own people, so I wasn't really shocked very much.

Some Harlem & Brooklyn nikkaz sets don't really get along like that & Cam was always Dame's guy & him & Jay had apparently talked about it before & Jay wasn't comfortable with letting those nikkas around because of Cam's "history" if you get what I'm saying. So Dame ended up signing Cam & Dipset to the Roc while Jay was out on vacation on some sneaky shyt. You had Juelz running around talking about Cam taking over the Roc & you had Jay cock blockin' Juelz 2nd album release not to mention Cam had a separate contract with Dipset that Dame didn't know about...

I do think that Jay only needed a reason to split with Dame & that was it...

All in all Jay was a better businessman & Dame was more street... Jay knew dealing with Dipset was bad business & years later we see where Dame is & where Jay is... Jay was right...
