Taking a funny ass line way too serious.

That's the way a lot of people from that era and mine joke.

How would "your Mama" jokes have gone over today? Do kids still clown each other in person? or is more like not liking an instagram story?

Cole should have asked off the label

He would have been fine

But now

Cole have his royalties
All his publishing
Total freedom
And those tours he complained about solidified his fanbase

I’m sure he wouldn’t have had all that

But her Jay a bytch or a hoe for saying that one thing

Amazing huh 🤔

If you listen to the story Cole hit Jay up once he was off the henny, he said "when you were making Reasonable Doubt was anyone pressing you for a hit? So why you pressing me?" and he asked Jay "Where's the vision" because Jay forced him in a studio session with Stargate.

Sounds like a miserable time for Cole though, really shows how trying to force a hit can fukk with an artists whole creativity.
Jay was chasing hits his whole career. "Ain't no nikka" was on RD

It's subtly kind of hilarious and I fukk with Cole. You supposed to laugh that off like "yeah I need a hit bro"

it's almost like a millennial parody. Like a college campus type shyt.

I felt attacked and felt unsafe when Jay said that...I feel like I'm living my truth as an artist, and I won't be gaslit into thinking I am not a success. As a college educated man, I feel like I am otherized for not being a cocaine dealer. I felt unseen.

It hits harder when a nikka delayed the release of ur album to the point u have to redo it and release what u wanted to be ur album as a mixtape instead. Jay's input made Cole have the worst debut album out of "the big 3". Cole literally said he was depressed af during that era.

lol we all get in our feelings even Jay had to change his tone at one point

I remember a thread on her about Jay talking to Lyon and he was on the phone voiced high pitched ass hell acting like a little bytch :yeshrug:

Found it the thread. Original video is gone but dude was begging “come on Lyor” for a private plane and he told him no. Based on the comments you’ll see

This is the cut version

That’s crazy stuff really be getting deleted off the net

You people sound delusional and outrageous, Jay sounds like that when he talks to fukking casanova. You don’t know what he’s talking about but spend Sundays making up stuff in your head about that Lyor saying and what the conversation is about :mjlol:

Thats his partner and friend he’s talking to

:russ: Dude please nikka sound crazy in that clip

Like I said everybody has to suck it up at one point I time. Even HoV

I’m not making up anything

@REdefinition literally quoted the original video in the comments

“Anybody that minimizes Dame's role in Jay's career needs to hear this phone call. "Come on Lyor, man, it's not fair" :sadbron:He was clearly their backbone.
Dame would have just told Lyor they're not doing it and probably screamed on him an extra 30 minutes just for asking”

Cole is on his nas shyt (i have to have a pure no hit chasing album as my first album) phase

jay like "i have to recoupe something" phase

thats all it is

Well here’s the thing. He’s no where near as skilled as Nas. I’m pretty sure Hov saw that like we all do and said “hey yall lightskin boy, make a girl record”
