He came off the same wave as the Kendrick, 2chains and Ross’s run back in the early 2010s. He didn’t fit. He basically came up at the wrong time. If he would have come up in the early 2000s with lupe, q tip, Andrea and nas he might have been a legend.

Midwest dudes move a certain way compared to Atlanta rappers. You can’t try and live that lifestyle and be born and raised from the Midwest.

Also rappers in that era were damn near actors and is partly why most the goods ones were popular. Theirs a reason why all the rappers from that era were and still are move actors (50, ‘em, Luda, game, TI, Andre). MCs in the 2000s were rappers/actors.

Smart rappers know when their time is up (50, travis scott scarface, e-40, lupe, ect.) and leave on a high note and invest the rap money. Then you have clowns like game, young thug, lil wayne, ect who get addicted to the fast life late into their 30s and continue to f up their lives, careers and legacy.

Its just the nature of the game, same with old heads who continue to live that street life well into their 30s and 40s. It will do nothing but drag you down unless you really are a heathen with no morals and appreciation for life.
