Yo did you read this shyt? We spent 40billion dollars on some shyt that doesn't work b

The system has failed about half the time in tests that are scripted, Wright says — meaning those operating the missile defense system have information about the target they would not have in real life. In 2002, the program was exempted from normal testing and procurement standards so that it could be deployed faster.

The system has still not been tested against realistic targets such as tumbling warheads, warheads accompanied by credible decoys, or warheads traveling at speeds and from distances similar to that of incoming intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs)," the Union of Concerned Scientists report said. "Nearly 15 years after the GMD system was put on the fast track, the Pentagon's own testing officials have said the system has not demonstrated an operationally useful capability to defend the U.S. public from a missile attack."

I can't comprehend how this could be.

The same way a human can parry attacks from an assailant or a dog can catch a rabbit there is no reason we shouldn't have an adequate working missile defense system.

Too much time, money and research is put into OFFENSIVE strategies this is the core problem.

For every TEN scientist or technologist staffed to develop and innovate offensively there is probably just ONE dedicated to Defense.

The U.S. and overall Western mentality is always about conquering and never about preservation. Wasn't the whole purpose of trillions of dollars spent on state-of-the-art satellite systems since the 60's for DEFENSIVE AND DETECTION CAPABILITY????

Mutually Assured Destruction benefits no one. This is why nukes haven't been launched during the cold war. The point being that you are destroying perfectly good land and resources. If the U.S. is nuked by Russia for example you can guarantee at least 50% of the Russian population will STARVE AND DIE as a result of the chain economic effects that will happen as a result. Add another 25% who are hit by automatic retaliation missiles. Another 25% due to opportunistic invaders. You are basically left with 1-5% of the population. So what is the point.

Beef up the defense and stop antagonizing other countries. NO POINT IN WINNING WITH NO SPOILS TO REAP FROM....

That, the F-35, that one big ass radar boat out in hawaii, etc etc... the usa military blows through money. If you're one of the companies contracted to make the military's equipment.. you're eating good...

A US fighter jet, which was involved in a show of force against North Korea, has crashed into the sea.

The F-18 crashed while attempting to land on an aircraft carrier in the Celebres Sea, near the Phillipines.

The sole pilot survived by ejecting and landing in the sea, before being rescued by a helicopter crew. He is not seriously injured.

A US military spokesman said: "A pilot safely ejected and was quickly recovered by a helicopter assigned to HSC-4 aboard USS Carl Vinson while conducting routine flight operations during a transit in the Celebes Sea.

"The incident occurred as the F/A-18E assigned to Carrier Air Wing 2 was on final approach to USS Carl Vinson. The incident is currently under investigation.

"The pilot is being assessed by the medical team on board USS Carl Vinson and there are no apparent injuries at this time."

The crash occurred several thousands further south in the Sea of Celebes, near the Phillipines.

Mr Trump had announced the armada was "steaming towards" the Sea of Japan. However, several days after the declaration the group was photographed still thousands of miles away.

Word America is gonna fight a war not their terms and will get exposed badly. We almost got exposed in Iraq. Like I always said primacy does not mean invincibility.
Pretend America doesn't have an elite military. :mjlol:

You didn't read what I wrote. America's military is powerful and unmatched when fighting a conventional enemy. America's primacy is unmatched. North Korea and Russia and most nations stand no chance in a conventional war. However when it comes to guerilla and asymmetrical warfare America's weakness is exposed. Primacy does not mean invincibility. What is the US military's weakness? Afraid of taking high casulties, reliance on advanced expensive technology, reliance on aerial/naval assets.

You know why Russia and China.invested in advanced cheap anti ship missiles like the P-800 Onik(Yakhont) and the C-802 Silkworm ? Because they knew they have chance keeping up with the US in building expensive ships. So they made these advanced anti ship missiles that are faster than the Aegis system can detect. Basically use cheap weapons but effective weapons to destroy expensive American ships

Same applies with the Russian S-300/S-400 and Chinese Hq-9. Cheap but effective anti air assets that can take down expensive American jets. This is the hallmark of China and Iran A2/Ad strategy. Which is to deny access to specific area to American navy and aerial assets and deny them entry to those areas with anti ship, anti aircraft and ballistic missiles. The US has no effective counter measures for A2/AD. Especially in Iran 's case which the Persian Gulf and Straight of Hormuz favors Iran's A2/AD asymmetrical strategy.

Just like in sports you can have the best team in the league but that doesn't mean you do not have weaknesses that another team can expose. And just like sports there is matchups. The US matches up well conventionally against North Korea,Russia,Syria etc but other matchups do not favor it. Like Iran.

The US military practically finished off Saddams military within the first week with only Air power, so how did the US get exposed?
