Fantastic movie. How this movie only got one Oscar nom is beyond me. The cinematography, production design and Jake should all have gotten noms. The car scene in the book is the most tense scene I've seen in a long time

It was sooooooo long and the tension kept escalating, literally had me wondering if it was really going to go there

Every time she put the book down that was my time to catch my breath

I fukking HATE Amy Adams but she was really good in this...

The first 35 minutes is supposed to be really jarring but I was just like ...then again I lived a pretty fukked up life until my mid 20's so I'm generally at most things that are supposed to be fukked up in movies...

Good movie. I liked it. Ending kinda had me thinking that he popped her husband in real life then killed himself. Its not that deep as people make it out to be but still a good flick none the less

No he wrote that in a book. The only thing that really happened is they met, got married, had a kid, she started losing faith in his writing abilities, cheated, aborted his baby and left him. Then 19 years later he sent her the book he wrote that contained the desert story and the rape and the hillbilly psychos and the cop who helped him out. All those characters were just from the book.
