He caught "half his passes" cause only "half his passes" were listed as catchable. And I don't know where people keep getting this "he can't run routes" shyt from. You can watch plenty of videos that show you at some point in damn near every route he runs last year he is open and Dak either just doesn't throw him the ball or throw's him the ball but the pass is terrible.
Dez is not on this team because the cowboys offense isn't one that features a number 1 receiver anymore, and because the cowboys felt like he was making to much money. If you put Antonio Brown on this team he would put up Dez numbers, because Dak is going to do him exactly like he did Dez. Look at him one time and he is not open and then go to another receiver and never look at Brown again. Or he is just going to stare Brown down the entire time, wait for that safety to get over the top of him and then just throw him a jump ball.
Also people talk about Dez numbers being down. So was T Will. So was Beasely. So was Witten. Every single cowboys receiver numbers were down last yer except for Butler and that was because he never really got the ball much in his career anyway. So if every single receiver numbers are down...who fault do you think that is?
Antonio Brown can run any route in the book, Dez cannot.
Antonio Brown is quick, Dez is not.
To say that arguably the best receiver in football would put up the same numbers as a big, slow, limited route runner, is reaching like a motherfukker.
Dez hasn't been an elite receiver for the last few years. Witten was old and slow.Terrance Williams is a marginal deep threat who catches with his chest, and Beasley is an undersized Patriot wannabe.
I would expect Dak to bounce back this year. Keep in mind Zeke was banned for several games, and that fukked up the offense because teams didn't respect the run as much. Nor could Dak dump it off to Zeke in those games he missed.
