"I still want to go to the NBA. For me now, the best solution is to develop step-by-step. Now I will have the chance to play in the best European league and I looking to improve my skills. It is true that I have an NBA buyout for a fixed amount of money" said Pleiss. "The relationship with the Thunder who own my NBA right is great. We will be close and exchange info" added Pleiss who won't be playing the NBA Summer League as expected.

Probably won't see him for 2-3 years. Hopefully he doesn't end up like Fran whatever in Orlando where he just never seems to be coming.

even if he comes over it'll probably be to the point where we may not be able to afford his offer

This type of attitude is why the Thunder lost. Stop patting yourselves on the back.

2010 - lost to favored, more experienced Lakers

"It's ok. We made the playoffs. We showed improvement. Good job, good effort."

2011 - lost to favored, more experienced Mavs

"It's ok. We made it to the WCF. We showed improvement. Good job, good effort."

etc.

Them boys don't need a pat on the back. The welcome crowd waiting for them in OKC let me know immediately they won't be winning it next year either. They need to be embarrassed, scrutinized, questioned and lambasted before they grow the balls to take that next step.

Only losers accept losing.

:wtf:

They get better every year. They don't need to be embarrassed, scrutinized, or lambasted. Questioned maybe but even then shytting on them for losing is the dumbest thing I read on here today. Not being angry about them losing has nothing to do with why they lost. LeBron was just on a mission this year after his ass got "embarrassed" last year by Dirk who was on a mission to win.

that isnt really fair ; the OKC thunder evolved and improved leaps and bounds between last year and this years playoffs

westbrook and durant are good, harden needs to figure out what happened to him in the finals and fix it , ibaka continue to improve and perkins is doing his thing

OKC is going to be set for a long time, they have an insanely young roster

everything is a learning experience, the Bulls got beat down by the pistons for years didn't they, how'd that one turn out?

Yes it is. If you don't understand that you don't understand the NBA. That's why I easily picked the Heat and there was no doubt in my mind. Miami was hungry, while OKC was satisfied.

You gotta hate losing to win in this league. 100%. A pat on the back reduces that to at least 99% hate and that's not enough.

Keep patting them losers on the back and telling them it's okay to lose and they'll keep losing because you just said it's okay.

So you would call this year a success for them? That's a problem.

Yes the Bulls got beat down and had their hearts ripped out until they absolutely weren't gonna let that happen again. You think they had welcome parties waiting for them after those Pistons series to pat them on the back?

You're right about needing to fail before you succeed. That's why I was so disappointed and baffled at all the "experts" who picked OKC. Those picks made ZERO sense to me.

i hear you somewhat, but here's the thing, to me, i felt the spurs were going to manhandle everyone, they were ballin' on another level, and really maybe OKC who were playing out of their minds against the spurs saw that as possibly their biggest competition and once they beat them down 4 games in a row (amazing), that shocked the shyt outta me, they maybe were a bit unprepared ( could anyone prep ? ) for a LBJ on a mission

let's not kid around here, this wasnt happy go lucky , lemme pass this ball i dont wanna risk looking like a dumbass lebron, this was fukk this shyt im going to the hole and dominating lebron, and no one could stop that

i totally consider the OKC season a success, and they are poised to be back in the finals next year (unless the lakers make some crazy big moves, or some other teams continue to get better, spurs are on the downslide at least from a finals standpoint i think)

time will tell, but they definitely shouldnt hang their heads, you're talking about dudes in their early 20s, even perk who looks old as hell is a youngster

:what: So because they lost in the finals in their 1st trip there, everyone is supposed to just say fukk em & abandon ship? OKC is going to be alright, their a bunch of kids for the most part. They gonna be in the mix every year. They ran into a team that couldn't lose again with all the expectations on them. LeBron did what Dirk did last year & took over for his team.

"Experts" picked OKC because as a overall team they looked better going in. Who the hell was expecting Battier, Chalmers, & Miller to play the way they did?

:what: So you expected Scott brooks to not adjust to Miami's small ball? You expected battier to hit 20 3s? you expected james harden heart to stay in okc?:what: you expected ibaka to chase sfs on the perimeter? you expected perkins to guard chris bosh? you expected mike millers back to finally allow him to shoot? you expected the refs to call a uneven series? :what:

i feel you too. But the thing is, they're not gonna take that next step until they do hang their heads. Until they get humbled. So while they are the early favorites to win the West next year, I simply see them losing again.

Here is a great article that talks about this. This is NBA history we're talking about.

Personally, I wasn't that impressed with the Spurs. I mean, sure they were playing great but that was the end of the regular season and the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. No one ever won a title at the end of the regular season or the beginning of the playoffs. Even going up 2-0 in the WCF. All they did was protect home court. I didn't see them beating Miami and wasn't totally shocked the lost to the Thunder. IMO, their win streak made them a little overrated. Very good team, no doubt, but I didn't think they were the best in the league for a single day.

But look at what you posted, LBJ was on a mission. Why? He was humiliated. He was forced to hang his head.

"Good job, good effort" means you did enough to win. That's a lie. They didn't do enough to win and they need to improve on some things. Patting them on the back is what a "yes man" would do and that will never benefit them. When they lose next year maybe then they'll do some soul searching. The same soul searching every NBA champ had to do with very few exceptions. And they can't be an exception to that rule with the Beasts from the East that is the Miami Heat still intact.

The heart of a champion is one that has been broken. Hearts don't break while their being consoled and told "good job, good effort."

I expected OKC to not be built for a championship yet. The "how" doesn't matter. I didn't know Mike Miller was gonna hit seven 3's in game 5 either but I knew Miami was going to win and that's all that matters.

Who said abandon ship? I'm confused. What are you talking about? I'm saying don't pat them on the back and say "it's okay." What's okay? Losing? They lost and you're saying that's okay? Losing shouldn't be okay.

:what: YOU are the one who made this thread saying don't hang your head. Yes they should hang their head. They should lock themselves in a room for 2 weeks like LeBron did last year. They should be embarrassed to the point they never want to feel this way again. That's what makes a champion.

Read this article, Loose. It's for you.
