And the better QB for the Jets is the young and upcoming Geno Smith, not the rethread veteran Fitzpatrick. The "get the white QB" guys don't put much emphasis on Geno's potential or youth, or anything that is relevant to football performance projection. Rather they focus superfluous things like Geno's personality or behavior, which are at worse immature and at best irrelevant to football.

You're basing Geno's potential on what exactly...

You're obsessed with the white black thing for whatever reason. If Bradway got his way and got Russell no on here would be screaming about putting in a "white QB". It has nothing to do with that.

I keep Geno's play in context with the other 31 QB's in the league. Fitzpatrick was a better player than Geno last year.

Fitz's performance and relevance to starting in NY is mitigated by the fact better weapons than Geno in Houston and has less potential than Geno by way of his advanced age. Regardless of whether Fitz is better or worse than Geno, he is not the better starting option for the Jets. Fitz right now is better than Bortles, Carr and probably Mariota too, that does not mean Fitz should start over any of them.

The Jets went on a FA splurge this year so the grooming the turnover prone QB doesn't fly as well as it did last year.

You're basing Geno's potential on what exactly...

1. Geno's right now is the same age as Bryce Petty. Breakout age is a predictor for good QB performance.

2. Geno put up similar numbers to Fitzpatrick in the latter's first 2 years, however Geno has more physical ability than Fitz, which implies Geno has more potential.

3. Geno has improved since he began starting 2 years ago and recently integrated his improvement into his game. His arrow is on the up.

Unfortunately, some but not all of the anti-Geno disdain coming from football fans is related to the fact Geno is black. If Geno performed better much of the censure would end but this does not mean all of the criticism he receives for losing is fairly attached to having lost.

If Geno had an Arian Foster to dump the ball off to the majority of the time he probably would of put up the same numbers...

I watched some of Texans games because I had Dre on my fantasy team...

80% of Fitz completions were 5 yard dump offs to Foster and the other 20% were mostly unecessary circus catches by Deandre cuz Fitz can't hit the broad aide of a barn from 15 yards...The Texans 2 minute drill was one of the worst in the league last season...Any Texans fan will cosign this...

Geno isn't a good player.

That's where the anti-Geno stuff comes from.

When you wanna use race as a crutch for everything, you can, but it just makes you look like a fool.

Don't bring up the difference in weapons to @Trip. He doesn't even acknowledge the Jets cast of characters at WR. He certainly won't acknowledge the difference in enhanced cast Fitz had around him in Houston

I don't think I can make myself any clearer that I do not think Fitzpatick is the answer. But with our defense he gives the team a better chance to win.

Geno struggles with not having dump offs intercepted. Geno's worst mistakes came inside the Jets 20 and inside the red zone, basically the two spots where mistakes can't happen. And an absurd amount of his turnovers went the distance the other way. His errors are generally the back breaking ones.
